What are the things that you have done that have stunned you, made you stop and think, and brought a smile to your face?

I was on a red eye and was the only one in first class awake. So I watched the sunrise from the plane. The stewardess actually sat down next to me and watched as well.

I hiked through an island to see this without know what was in store. I started on one side of an island on an unpleasant beach and saw this.

I was hiking in Australia and came to a waterfall pool, which was nice. My guide said I should go check out what was off on a side trail and this is what I saw.

Also watching Sydney harbor by night.

On the top of a huge hill/tiny mountain in San Diego, overlooking the endless avocado, potato, and grape fields.

Running across my base to get to lunch during a Cat 5 Typhoon. Fifty yards to the chow hall and every one had to wear flak and kevelar and could only leave in fireteams. Every other guy to step out the door flew about 10 feet down the road. :p

climbed Kilimanjaro.. the whole thing was pretty amazing.

First getting into HK was incredible too. Hong Kong is beautiful at night, as long as it isn't too cloudy.

Arriving in Detroit after a year in hk. I think what got me was the bright sky and open fields.

Surfing in australia. Dang, that water was salty :p

Environment isn't much without the right people though. I can name hundreds of moments where I wished my old friends/family were with me :(

One of my favorites that I don't have a picture for (yet) is when I get off a ski lift at any resort in my area and being able to see the entire valley I live in (if all the smog isn't covering it that day), and the entire mountain range on the other. Something cool about being on top of the sharp drop off of the mountains I see every day. Not my photo, but pretty much what I get to look at.

Snorkeling in Saint Thomas, Virgin Islands. The beach beach that the resort I stayed at sat on had no limits as to how far you could swim out. Found sea turtles and sting rays among other cool fish. Another beach literally had a black cloud of these little guys that would gently disperse as you neared 'em and me and my dad saw some tuna and barracudas. Also driving through all the hills and seeing views of the island from every side, mainly a particular beach called Coki beach (supposedly named one of the nicest beaches in the world) and seeing the grand yacht haven in the downtown area were all really cool. And meeting the native islanders every day was more than enough to bring a smile to my face, the natives are all extremely nice people from what I met in a week.

I've had a good fair share of very memorable moments, this is the only one I have on this labtop atm though, I may or may not post more later though most of them are rock climbing or backpacking.

Anywho, this was taken a few years ago when I was 14 in Indonesia, my dad and I hiked up Mt. Merapi from the bottom, it took a good 10 or so hours up and then half of that down. What looks like ground in the pic is entirely clouds.

When I visited Paris, I stayed in a beautiful apartment a quarter of a block from Notre Dome. That entire part of the city is amazing, day and night. Also going to the top of the Eiffel Tower and seeing the city from the top is amazing. I did that at both daytime and nighttime, and it was even more rewarding at night.

Pretty much the same. Went up to the hills with my girlfriend, we decided to hop a fence and walk up this hill. Got to the top, the most amazing thing i have ever seen. 360 Degree view of Orange County, CA.

No truer thing has ever been said. I have been to 45 of the 50 states in the U.S. I have visited 6 different countries and am returning to France to study at the end of this coming semester. My favorite quote by me:

"We're always taught that there is an entire world out there, we just never realize the scope of it."

The more you see of the world, the more you want to see. It's addictive, it can't be helped.

Also, I have been in a signed band (we produced a CD, you've never heard of us. Promise.) I can speak both French and English fluently. I have almost been killed twice in my life and have had my life saved by a dog one of those times. Another thing I love is 'The Alchemist' by Paulo Coelho. Read it. It will change your life.

But the biggest things that makes me smile is my girlfriend and the fact that looking back on everything that has happened to me, everything that I have experienced that has brought me to this present moment I can attribute to God. There are no coincidences, at least not in my life.

Then be proud of those moments. If they are moments that truly mean a lot to you and you truly did work hard to see them come to fruition, then those moments should be worth more to you than anyone of us can imagine. Another quote of mine I love:

"Life is all about memories, we are defined by them, we are a compilation of them, we ARE our memories. Thus, make as many as you can with as many people as you can."
