This map is by far the most complex and the cleanest map that I have ever attempted in my 3 years of forging. It features three levels and is quite large but it is layed out in such a way that you can get anywhere you want quickly. Less time having to travel from one place to another = more bloodshed! The map is all inclosed but features a great deal of glass for lighting and brightening up the dull grey colors of forge's objects. The glass and map color scheme also allows you to quickly determine exactly where you are on the map. The map also features two glass atriums that masterfully showcase forgeworld's scenery. This map required every last wall, building block, and decorative piece I spared no expense for detail. I would like to give a special thanks to SsTtOeNvEeR420 and ALagging Noob for their help with this map the saved me a great deal of forge time and added in some great feedback. I hope all enjoy Ascension... P.S. I recommend trying jetpack on this one its fun as all hell and I dont even like jetpack normally. YouTube - Ascension
I'd change the name, Ascension was already a standard map in Halo 2. Like your circular rooms quite a bit.
Circular rooms look sick, but the map is screaming "screen lag" at me. :O Must say though, looks very slick over all and I'm definitely giving this a shot. Got my DL. Love the mirrored symmetric build.
Aesthetics look amazing. but I'd be afraid of the flow of the map because of the lack of ramps and ways to the other floors from the bottom. This is random, but you should deffinently make this into a conquest map. Thatd be awesome.
honestly i have only had lag during forge for some odd reason. And blaze you should try jetpack on it it is fun as hell. And I dont even like jet pack lol. [br][/br]Edited by merge: and what is a conquest map?
This map looks amazing and I regret not getting on the past couple days to join the process of making it! The aesthetics are awesome and it looks like the gameplay would be great. I downloaded it and I look forward to trying it out. The one thing is I'd expect the 2 second floor rooms to connect, to add another main battle zone. Well they may connect but I couldn't really tell from the pictures and video. But other than that, great job EDIT: Yeah I must be blind because I watched the video again and it's obviously clear that they do connect, don't know how I didn't think they were the first time.
Lol Mac its pretty sweet so far with several players you never know which direction someone is going to pop up out of to try and ninja you. I originally intended to physically connect the top areas together but I didnt have nearly enough pieces left to accomplish this so I had to use two way teleporters to accomplish this. I will be on later to play if you wanna test it out with the rest of Teabag Nation.
Nice map. Really liked the circular glass rooms. I just took a walkthrough, but will play it a bit later and give you more feedback. I notice a couple of things. 1) I suggest turning your teleporters around so that when you exit, you are facing the room and not the wall. 2) The ramps to the teleporters don't align with the dish. They seem to be off by 1. Looks odd. (I'm ana--I mean, a perfectionist, I know.) 3) On the bottom level made from the 3 room building, there's a flashy seam at the bottom of the doorway where it meet another piece. Seemed like moving this 1 over would fix it. (I personally hate flashies.) But again, great map. The downward angled tubes are very cool. --DethBob
I dont think you can control where you come out of the teleporters Ive tried on several maps best I know is if you back into it you come out facing the right direction in the other room. Ill go ahead and give it a shot though
