Aurra is a 4 way symmetrical map. It's very reminiscent of Halo CE and Halo 2 small maps, but doesn't use any existing formula. It is very high traffic around an open, central column. It has been extensively tested and works with many gametypes. I went for a Nature vs. Structure esthetic. Top Floor The top floor has a ton of action. Up here you have a great view of the bottom areas. However, you never know when another player will come shooting past you and attack. Middle Floor Here, there are multiple pathways to several nice weapons. Not pictured are 4 mini bases in each corner with hidden pathways to reach the top floor and a chain gun for defense of objectives. If you're lazy, just take a man-cannon and expect a brawl when you reach the top. Teleporters lead to and from the bottom floor, opposite side. Bottom Floor This is another high action zone. A rocket launcher lies in the middle of the pond. Shotguns are close to the teleporters leading to the mid level. As a second way up, light man-cannons shoot you directly into the opposition's bases. This map has been submitted in the forgetacular contest. Feedback has been pretty high in the circles I frequent. Playtests have been INSANE with 8+ players. Here are a few videos as proof: Crazy King Bungie.net : Halo Reach : File Details Slayer Bungie.net : Halo Reach : File Details CTF Bungie.net : Halo Reach : File Details I worked pretty hard on this map, and I hope you enjoy it. My suggestion is to play with 8 or more players.
This map looks awesome, I see a lot of time was put into it and it seems to play well. I'm dl'ing right now so I can check it out. Not much else I can say about the map, it looks great, no obvious mistakes, I didn't see any Z-fighting. I love the use of the man-cannons and how it actually does remind me of Halo CE/ 2 small maps. Peace out and keep forging.
