    At long last.

    For Those Who Don't Know...

I present my most ambitious forge project. I took up on Ace's offer and made not one, but 2 Kineticas, added some Epitaph, Construct, and Narrows love into it, and combined them into one BTB Sky Map in Reach. The original Kinetica was a vertically-challenging, asymmetrical, one-sided map. While Psychokinesis is vertically-challenging, it is the opposite in all other aspects, being a symmetrical, two-sided quarrel. The map layout had to be duplicated and deformed to meet this standard.

If you’re new to the boat, welcome aboard. This is Psychokinesis.

    A Little Backstory

Psychokinesis first came to mind when I had been planning Kinetica, the precursor to the map, in Halo 3. I had imagined 2 Kineticas connected in the center. This was completely impossible in Halo 3 due to Budget and Object constraints. So the asymmetrical design was chosen. When the preview was posted, AceOfSpades had thought if was unfortunate I couldn't have 2 Kineticas and have stuff in between. But, with Forge world, new ideas flourished, and I plan to use it to my advantage.

    Designing my Baby

Rather than stuck with the old design, I gave the symmetrical design a go. This map was probably the most challenging map to finish designing, as I had to comply with the limits of the new forge. All the limits of every category (excluding rocks) have been met, so it just barely squeezed its way into Forge World. The designing took about 4-5 days was a struggle. I had lucky surges of ideas and ingenious to get around the limits by manipulating certain objects and fiddling with rotations.

    Building the Beast

This map has gone through a whopping 112 versions. Yes, 112. With that number, a lot of time and effort have been used in the process. I started the map back in late September and finished the final version today.
The map itself has had some design changes to comply with the limits. A small section of walkway has been removed, as well as the drop. The Bottom Lift has been redone and Bottom Middle has been completely overhauled. The center has had a big design change, mainly dealing with long LOS.

    Weapon List
    -2 AR's
    -8 DMR's
    -4 Plasma Repeaters
    -4 Needle Rifles
    -2 Plasma Pistols
    -2 Needlers
    -2 Grenade Launchers - 60 Respawn
    -2 Shotguns - 90 Respawn
    -1 Sniper - 120 Respawn
    -1 Rocket Launcher - 150 Respawn

And now I stand here today, marveling at what it has become. You might be too. But I've spent sleepless nights and countless tests to ensure to multiplayer and aesthetic qualities are above and beyond all expectations and regulations.

    Without further ado...

    Psychokinesis.

Looks really fun to be honest, the raised grass platform really stands out to me, it is also very nice that it is one curvy solid building nice job on that! The corridors look good for small DMR skirmishes.

    Good job!

Looks like a pretty cool map. The aesthetics are amazing and looks to be smooth game play. I guess that is what happens when you go through 112 variations. The dedication definitely shows. I would like to know how many weapons are on the map though. It does seem to contain a lot of power weapons for what looks to be pretty close quarters combat. Good job.

Thanks, I like the contrast of the green grass on the gray steel peices. I also tried to make it one solid piece and connect all of the space to make it look as good as it does.

Edit: WEAPONS LIST! I completely forgot! Thanks Combs for that.

I DL'ed and it lagged pretty badly on just a custom slayer game with just me in it. Hopefully it doesn't always lag, because it a real great map.

Unfortunately it will lag at times, I've heard people lagging. Downloading Reach to your XBOX will drastically reduce lag, for me it did. Nonetheless it still lags and there no way to remedy the situation without tearing the map apart.

My concern over power weapons has completely disappeared. Looks like the perfect amount of them and respawn time is appropriate. Now, I can't wait to play this map. BTW I gave it a DL; I don't know if I said that the first time.

Make a fixed frame-rate version then while also keeping the original in your fileshare. There are plenty of ways that you can fix FR issues. I suggest replacing the roof with something more simple, such as coliseum walls, to start things off.

This actually looks like a pretty unique and interesting map, even if it's obviously a rip-off of Psychoduck... now THAT'S a good map :D

Seriously though, I like it. Props for trying something somewhat original.
