Fortress This map has a red side and a blue side with a tower 3 story in the middle of each side where the teams initially spawn. The blue tower The rockets drop spawn in the middle of the map with 1 spare clip. The are 2 glass covers on inside of the walkways to provide cover around the middle of the map. On Assault and CTF gametypes the middle area changes to provide a place for the neutral objectives. The snipers spawn to the left of the bases as the team spawn and also drop spawn. To the right there is a sniper tower that leads onto a mid point that holds a shotgun on top and a health pack with a plasma pistol underneath on both sides of the map. Underneath there is a sword behind glass panels for visual effects with more cover behind the walkway up to the second floor. Next to that on each side is a shield door lift up to the walkways. On the other side of the walkway there is a grav lift cased in glass windows and for the infection gametype there is an extra grav lift to give zombies another way up there to kill potential campers Kill zones are also placed on areas that would be ideal for camping on to avoid any assylum/sword base scenarios. The main focus for this map was team games although most gametypes have been included. Weapons 1 x Rockets 2 x Sniper 2 x Shotgun 2 x Plasma pistol 6 x DMR 2 x Needle rifle 2 x Magnum 1 x Assault rifle 4 x Health pack 4 x Plasma grenades 2 x Sword (Unused) Overall I wanted this map to be balanced fairly for each side and to be used mainly in objective type games. Team slayer works well but this probably isn't the best map for that. Assault and Multi flag work well through rally is suprisingly fun to play as is infection. Any criticisms would be appreciated, I hope you have fun and most importantly download it!
I gave it a download and played it with a couple of friends. I like the simplicity of the two bases idea. However I have seen this idea a million and one times in both Halo 3 and Reach. If you would like to improve on this map I think you should give it a little bit more cover on both the top and bottom levels. I found that the sight lines in some areas were way to long and then in others you couldn't see more than a couple metres in front. I also found that as soon as I was getting fired upon that I would die as I was always in the middle of a barren wasteland.More Heigh Variation would be good and I also found the aesthetics a little dull. Overall though a decent map but I think you should improve on it a bit to make it stand out from the two bases idea crowd
Yeah, sorry about the whole no aesthetics thing. I'm not exactly a forging genius so tried to focus more on the gameplay rather than the visual effect. I was going for the wasteland effect in the middle of the map with the rockets there to draw players out, I will take your advice and try and place a few more bits of cover and reduce the extremely long lines of sight down in areas.
