So, I had a sudden inspiration for a map one day in class when I should have been paying attention. After about a month, this is the "finished" product. It is a symmetrical, two-base map made up mostly of bridges and platforms, with many levels. It works with Slayer variants, Juggarnaut, Infection, and CTF (though much better for multi-flag than 1-flag, in my opinion). If you have any suggestions after playing on this map, feel free to post them here. This is my first attempt at a more... "professional" map, and I'd like it to be as polished as possible. It would be easier to critique your map if I had more pictures, but from what I can tell the LoS looks to be incredibly long range on just about every part of the map. This means people can shoot at you from almost everywhere, which means that you can die with incredible ease, which means that it is (or should be) incredibly hard to move from area to area around the map without dying. This is a poor design choice for any map, much less one based around CTF. I'd recomend you add more cover throughout the map, completely redesign the bases and some pathways, and try to actually test the map (again, I think you didn't test your map because of the lack of any action shots). I didnt base it around CTF, i just wanted to add that in as an option. it is primarily for slayer gametypes, especially team slayer. i have play tested (though not as much as i'd like, and not with as many people as i'd like), but i did not know i was supposed to put action shots in. i will remedy that when i get another chance to play test. also, i would ask that you download the map and walkthrough before critiquing. the LoS is supposed to be a bit of an issue, and only really is on one level; i wanted there to be a risk/reward for the multitude of paths one can take. thank you though, and i will look into these problems you have brought up. =) ~Ty13r [br][/br]Edited by merge: ok, so i'm going to abandon this thread so i can make another one with updated game types and such, cause i cant figure out how to make CTF work at the moment, and i want to change the name i think anyways. thanks for the views, but i'll make another thread when the map is ready.
