I was wondering if it was possible to have different loadouts for different teams? I'm not exactly experienced when it comes to gametypes, and it would make a map I'm working on all the more better if this was possible. I could take the easy route and trust people to be mature and choose the correct loadout for the correct team, but there are the smartasses out there who don't believe in playing a map how it's supposed to be played.
I thought about it, but it's centered more on 3 different teams unfortunately. I guess I could just spawn them on top of an armor ability and figure something out for the weapons.
you could set it up so no one starts with armor abilities, then build a class selection system for each team like people used to do in H3 you make a spawn room for each team where they have to choose what "class" they are going to use by grabbing a certain weapon + AA, and then entering the map via a tele/cannonman
If it's for a specific map, there are some less-than-ideal but still functional ways to do it. Perhaps you could have players spawn in isolated rooms that have an armor ability and weapon in them, and have a teleporter leading to the real map. These rooms would act as the "load-outs", and you could throw in a soft kill zone to discourage camping. Edit: Beaten to the punch
No problem. Furthermore, you could make different sections in these load-out rooms. The desired weapon and armor ability could be in a sort of booth, entered through a one-way shield door. This would prevent players from picking and choosing from load-outs.
There is actually a way to do this, although with only 2 teams and a 1 life limit. In Infection, the tier 2 loadouts are the zombie loadouts, so you can make the "zombie" team have different loadouts than the "human" team. Just make the setting for zombies and humans identical and voilà! Although, as stated, you will have to limit respawn lifes to 1, to prevent team swithing via infection. Dont know how usefull this is to your imagined gametype, but its an option I suppose
