One of my favorite games to play on halo 3 was the "Drive or die" maps. The reason? pure carnage while still maintaining the balance of things. It was a very simple but brilliant game. Warthogs vs fast moving zombies with hammers that make you go flying. I mean what was not to love? But I also LOVE forged spaceships on reach. In halo 3, it was way to good to be true having both on ONE map. well now its possible, and it is what exactly I did in this map. I combined the fun race around from zombies with a HUGE ship with interior in the sky. The ship it self is very big, Inside and all. But the best part is being able to take a wart hog off the ship and drive. With the amazing settings of game types, this map it all possible. For zombies, I have them 200% speed, which is fairly fast, but counters the camping since thats what you would do in the ship. But I also gave the zombies something else! Sprint as you all know makes you much much faster. And with 200% speed, you can imagine that warthog are now up for a challenge! zombies as expected well have a sword and a gravity hammer. Thanks for viewing and I hope you download.
The ship itself looks gorgeous - probably the best I've seen on Reach so far. To be honest, I skipped to the pictures nearly immediately, and the fact that it supported infection intrigued me enough that I could've started downloading it then and there. Then I read the first paragraph. Suffice to say, I am not a fan of Drive or Die. And as great as the map looks, I don't download maps without a gametype to download too. If you made another infection gametype that it supported, then I would download this in a heartbeat. I'm also confused as to why there would be pylons in a frigate's hanger. Just seems a little out of place. And what's the last picture, what part of the ship?
When I saw this I was about to say meh, and shove off. But then I stopped myself, mainly because I had no idea why I didn't want to download it. Thinking harder didn't cure my peculiar ailment, it just made my head hurt. Since I had already taken a headache for this post, I decided to investigate. This map is eye-candy, the idea is good, it looks functionable, but all together, I just didn't like it. I downloaded it anyways, for further investigative purposes only, but I have a feeling I'm just telling myself that as an exuse to try it. Oh, and before I forget, I was the first one to download the Gametype, but not the map. That means that three people before me only DL'd the map. I'm worried that this generation has a serious problem with simple concepts. It makes you wonder who will be leading our country in 100 years... EDIT: Wow I started my post first, but finished second, and reading Plasma's post revealed my problem: I HATE DRIVE OR DIE. Thanks, man, that really clears up a lot.
I see drive or die was not as fun to everybody. I find it bad for me since that was the cool twist in the game. I wont leave the idea though, how ever I might just make another gametype where you can not drive anything, which im sure would please the people who dont like drive or die. The thing in the last picture is a small thought out aesthetic piece I made somewhere in the middle of the ship. Since there is a room with cover windows over looking much of the ship inside, I did not want them looking at just empty space. I let peoples imagination take over as to what that random looking thing is
