This is my Remake of the halo 3 map I forged called Hexahedron. It's technically V3 of the map but I figured its a new game so start fresh!. On with the Details! It is named after the six sided figure in the middle (aka a hexahedron). I was going for an urban feel when i was making this map, and I think i captured that feeling. There are 4 main buildings that are all connected in a horseshoe shape around the cube. The buildings all have killzones on top of them.. and not the nice kind. There is no escaping this map. you can fly as high as you want, but go over a building and your dead. The killzones stretch as high as possible to ensure no one EVER gets out. Overview of the map! Red Dot: Building 1 Orange Dot: Building 2 Teal Dot: Shotgun Building Green Dot: Window Building Yellow Dot: Building 3 Blue: Building 4 Purple Dot: Rocket Ramps The Cube The Cube has an active camo spawn in the center. the rocket ramps are on the right of the picture. Building 1 There are 4 entrances/exits to this building. you can see me flying towards the entrance to the back alley. Back Alley The Back Alley connects Building 1 to the bottom floor of Building 2. Or you can turn into another small path that takes you to the cube, from under the South Bridge. South Bridge The South Bridge connects Building 1 to the upper level of Building 2. A drop shield armor ability spawns... well right where the drop shield is.. Building 2 (Lower level) This is the lower level of Building 2. you can see a doorway with sand bags in front of it that leads to the cube. The tree along the wall is surprisingly great camo for any green player. Building 2 (Upper level) You can see the shield wall in the back, That is actually my custom teleporter. it takes you to Building 4. works just like a normal teleporter. and the ramp next to it leads to a new part of the map, the sniper window! Sniper Window This is above the South Bridge. The sniper spawns on the other side of the map, on the North Bridge. Shotgun Building The shotgun spawns in the wall to the right. There is a window directly across from it that you can jump in, and out of. Window Room This room was formerly the Green Room. the steps on the side make it so people without jetpacks can climb up to the Upper Level of Building 3. it also has a door that leads to the cube. Bottom of Building 3 You can see the Spiral ramp that leads to the Upper level. The teleporter used to be under the spiral ramp, but was moved to Building 4. Another shot of Building 3's bottom floor You can see the steps that lead into Building 4. There used to be a gravlift to the left of the stairs that would take you up to the middle level. Upper level of Building 3 This is where the spiral ramp leads to. and where the jumps in the Window Room lead to. there is a drop that leads to the bottom, and the North Bridge loops outside and into the middle level. Middle level of Building 3 In the left side of the picture is a ramp that leads to the upper level of Building 4. You can see the drop previeously mentioned that takes you to the bottom floor. and the doorway on the right leads to the North Bridge. North Bridge This connects The upper and middle levels of Building 3. to the right in the picture you can see the balcony of the upper level of Building 4. Building 4 (lower Level) you can see the teleporter that leads to the upper level of Building 2. and to the right of that is the Ladder (YES LADDER) that takes you up to the upper level of Building 4. there are 2 exits/entrances on the bottom floor. Building 4 (Upper level) This is the upper level of building 4. right where the ladder brings you up. To the right is the middle level of Building 3 and to the left is the balcony that takes you outside Rocket Ramps These ramps lead to.. you guessed it, the rockets. 2 minute respawn and only 2 shots though!. Well, finally.. thats it, The new Hexahedron.. Please share your thoughts about it. Download it first before you bash it please. I hope all of you enjoy it. copyright on teleporters!. dont steal them! lol jk.. but seriously... haha here is the previous version from halo 3 http://www.forgehub.com/forum/competitive-maps/100902-hexahedron-v2.html
This is a really damn nice map. You obviously have a good idea of what causes map flow and movement. It looks to me that every building has several ways in and out, with few of those paths being immediately connected together outside the building. No real camping spots exist, and every location has a wide range of movements you can make from them. The open-air center surrounded by buildings that actually aren't claustrophobic campfests is highly reminiscent of some of the later Halo 3 maps this site had; were you at all inspired by that?
when i first made it in halo reach, i was just messing around then decided to finish it.. but i was more inspire by MW2 maps to make mine more urban style. and ya the flow of this map in amazing, no camping, so many ways to go.. tons and tons of fun.
Ya, i used 2 oneway shields to make the ladder, its badass. i like it a lot more than the halo 3 version. ha, i get a lot of comments about the maps flow.. i guess i did a good job on that part.
