OPUS Opus: another word for "artifact" STORY Long ago, the Forerunners used these various structures to monitor various forms of energy. Now, these relics remain as perfect cover for the coming rain of bullets and plasma that awaits all who travel here. Gametypes Supported: Assault (All variants) King of the Hill (All variants) Slayer (All variants) Weapons Assault Rifles DMR's Concussion Rifle Needlers Needle Rifles Grenade Launcher Rocket Launcher Sniper Rifles Spikers Magnums Plasma Repeater Frag Grenades Plasma Grenades Vehicles Ghost (Team Variants ONLY) Looking at the weapons list, I have not been able to get enough people to download and play the map to tell me if things are overpowered. Notes The Grenade Launcher is located in the back of a cave, and is far from the Rockets or Snipers. There is one Sniper Rifle per base. Rockets spawn on the large walkway piece. Ghost spawns under the large walkway by all of the crates during team games. Concussion Rifle spawns behind Red Base Pictures And now, on to the pictures! (More to come within the week) Gameplay Pictures COMING SOON! Download it now! Tell me what you guys think! Constructive Criticism is very much appreciated!!!! DOWNLOAD OPUS
Im seriously liking this map. It is big and open, but not crowded. It is aesthetic, but its gameplay was not left behind in anyway. it has the perfect balance of everything. great job. i hope it gets noticed FIRST!!!!!
Thank you sir! If you play on the map, you'll see that there are some choke points that I put in place (I'll put up pictures sometime) But thank you! Have fun (if you download, of course =))
Looks cool but you should put up an overview picture so we can tell how far apart the bases are. I won't be ae to play it until tomorow might but when I do I will post again. Also how many players is this for 4v4?
I'll put up a picture about an hour or two within posting this. And 4v4 is possible BUT the map is rather large for that. Any less and it would be too boring. So, 4v4 is possible, but I recommend 5v5. EDIT: New overhead picture is up! You can now see the distance from base to base, as well as how everything else is laid out! =)
Yes, someone who knows how to build a BTB type map. Usually people make a big map such as this and it ends up being way too open with now real flow. And when people try to make a big map that is not too open, it ends up being a cluttered mess. You avoided these problem pretty successfully. On top of it, the aesthetics are beautiful. Good job.
Wow, thank you! I really appreciate it! I just hope more people may see this so I can get a 6v6 match going and, in turn, get you guys more action screenshots =D
I agree with Combs53090. one of the keys to making a BTB style map work right is keeping it simple, and having good flow, choke points, and vehicle paths. i havent played your map yet, but from the pictures it seems like youve made a good attempt at accomplishing this. your map caught my eye as i was browsing because it feels like a place. instead of just a bunch of objects, like most maps, when i looked at your pictures, those structures looked like they belong there. good job, i look forward to playing it. oh, and also, you may not have known this but: modified images are not allowed as your thumbnail image for the thread. the thumbnail image must be an unmodified screenshot of the map
Thank you, I plan on taking this advice while making future maps. And thank you, I am changing the picture now.
