just a simple U shape map but not sure how to work spawnpoints for good flow. unless theres a guide this would be great

Seriously. and yes, I know it's a Halo 3 page, but it's all the same concept. Advanced Guide to Respawns - ForgeHub Other than that though, a lot of the time you're going to have to test a map after you've placed teh spawns to know how it will REALLY play out. You can never predict everything.
Place respawns in clusters, but remember -- it's surprisingly easy to forget this -- that the more spawn points you have in an area, the more likely someone will spawn in that area. (I seriously do forget that sometimes. I'm also not retarded, so I assume others might as well.)

An easy way to double-task and fix up spawns for FFA and Team gametypes is to set all spawns to Nuetral, and just place Team-specific Respawn Zones over the spawns where you specificly want only one team to spawn (like on the inside of a base). As for initial spawns, you'll need to go into the specific gametype while in Forge mode, and set those up seperately.
But remember that any spawns that aren't in a Respawn Zone will have a lower usage priority than spawns that are in a Zone. At least, I think that's how it works. Also remember that the TEAM_ONLY and FFA_ONLY labels are "global", so to speak. A Gametype-specific TEAM_ONLY Initial Spawn placed while Forging for Slayer will show up in all Team games, not just Team Slayer.
