H2's Lockout for Reach

    Alright, I'm outlandishly sick of the trash lockout/blackout remakes and threads regarding their differences. I'm setting out on a quest to make the PERFECT LOCKOUT REMAKE. Yes, i've said it, lockout will be in Reach... here's the catch.

    I'm relatively inexperienced with the Forge, though i'm IRL creative, and can think in 3-D. I have a great knowledge of H2's Lockout, and know almost ALL of the old angles needed to make this map the bee's knees. I'll begin forging the map immediately after this is posted, but I could use some help from someone who knows a smidge more about forging than I. Simply add my gamertag (listed below) and send me a FR to throw your 2 cents in.

    This map will not be posted until it is perfect, this could be a single day, or a 3 week process, whatever. I'm passionate about having a perfect lockout remake for reach, and will include the following...

    JUMPS
    S1-top mid jump.
    elbow-S2 jump.
    top mid-S3 jump.
    top mid-S2 jump. (stupid to put, but whatev)
    S2-S3 jump.
    BR2 bridge-BR3.
    Open ramp-BR3 jump.

    ANGLES
    back BR-S2/S3
    S1-BR3
    Elbow-open ramp.
    closed ramp-bottom mid/S2.
    Window-Blue2/Blue1/bottom mid/BR1.

    I've noticed with similar remakes that bottom mid is usually disproportionate, and I will have it sized correctly. That means that BR1-S1 nades will be a semi-straight shot, and bottom mid itself will have all the features it used to. Another feature I'd like to get correct is Blue1/Green Room. There are two pieces of cover in GR not featured in any remakes I've found, and BR1 has a ledge high up you could hide on.

    No map is perfect in three weeks, let alone a single day. Don't ever rush a map.

    Not trying to rain on your parade but what your trying to do has already been done.

    That guy's got it wrapped up and perfected down to a science. However, if you feel the need to continue please do Lockout was my favorite map :D

    I did a tag search for Lockout the other day and I didn't like any of the ones I looked at.
    Forsaken, that one is the best I've seen and I' glad to see I'm not the only one using the ramps upside down and placing my own barriers!

    Are you kidding? That map sucks. It's so bumpy and sketchy. I think he was rushing just to be the first one to make a lockout remake. A well-made, time-consuming remake is definitely in order, in my honest opinion.

    check out odyssey hes on his way to making a perfect lockout hes taking every1s comment on lockout and adding new revisions when he completes it http://www.forgehub.com/forum/reach-competitive-maps/105521-odyssey.html its really good but yeah the one posted by forsaken does look mad sloppy ...and i look forward to trying yours when its ready like many people im looking for the perfect lockout remake also

    I need a favor. If someone owns Halo2, could you do a walkthrough film of the level so I can get an exact view of the bottom mid angles. I need the following angles...
    BR1-S1,
    S1-BR1,
    Blue1-Bottom Glass,
    Bottom Glass-S1, BR1, and Blue1,
    Top Mid lookaround vid? (not needed @ all, but could definately help.

    I need these angles so i can remake bottom mid correctly, so if anyone has some spare time, a copy of Halo2, and a passion for helping your fellow forgers, then please please PLEASE do these angles for meh. If someone actually does this, I guarantee a perfect bottom mid remake.

    PS: If anybody tells me to F***ING look on youtube or some ****, I'll kill ya (in MM)

    Still, YouTube is a very good resource. Look on the Map post of Oddysey, there are a lot of embbedded video's there. Oh, and I look forward to you killing me in MM :)

    EDIT:
    By the way, i sent you a FR on Xbox Live. I know you accepted me, but could we pick a date or something to do the remake? Where do you live, then we can take note of the different time zone. I live in GMT +01 (The Netherlands)

    I did a remake of Blackout and I think its pretty close to what the original was. I even have the spawns set in the same places. Only dif is that I put in a grenade launcher and a plasma repeater. Give it a look see. Its linked in my sig. Just click Knockout down there. Already have 100 downloads.

    You can't have a perfect scaled remake and still have all the jumps...the only way to get all the jumps is to make the entire map smaller...due to the jump height being lower/spartan height shorter in Halo Reach than it was in H2/H3...

    Ok I just sent you a friend request Str8ghFlush. I have been on the same mission...make a playworthy predecessor to H2's lockout. The biggest problem we will have is adjusting the map for reachs differentr jump heights OR just adding small additions so all jumps can be made. I have been working on it for quite sometime and I am willing to just work with what I have started already or we can start from scratch. I have a friend that has H2 and if I ask him he may be able to bring his xbox over so I can have it on and running on my second living room tv for perfect reference. Just let me know I'm willing to help in whatever way I can :) I have already made a remake of elongation (if you wanna check it out to see that I'm a serious mapmaker.

    I think that you (in order to keep the map in scale) you should make a custom GT. Just for the jump height. But as i see you already started, it must be a real pain in the ass to do everything over, or to change every single jump that you can find. BTW, the Halo 2 jump height is around 125%. But if you want to be exact, you can change the jump height AND the gravity.
