Are anyones maps being deleted and replaced with other maps? I have a map I spent about 5 hours updating and It was deleted and replaced with another map I was forging. It has the same name of what it should be, but when you choose it it will show the wrong map. Example: The map that was lost is called Narat: Ryloth. When I click on Narat: Ryloth in my map list it shows "Intel" on the map chosen. When I start the game it is the map I made called Intel. this is a terrible flaw in forge systems if its a normal thing. Did anyone else expeirience this?
I've heard of this happening to lots of people, as well as the glitch where maps will revert to an older saved state for no reason. I think we're all hoping that Bungie put this high on the list of issues for the 1.1 patch since it can totally negate hours of forging at worst, and undo important changes at best. I feel for ya man, though I've heard some people saying that they've rescued their maps by checking the recent maps list when this has happened to them. You might want to try looking there and saving the map again from this list if it's still there, hopefully you can get it back this way.
Yeah, this has happend to me twice, and the 2nd time was trying to recreate the first >.< I've just given up on that map, until a patch is made.
The File Browser, and presumably whatever file system (simulated or actual) they use for custom content, is filled with bugs. I've had bugs where every file was listed twice in the Browser and I couldn't perform actions on any of them... The gametype on my fileshare shows up as having a length (as in, Film Clip) of over 3000 minutes... I wouldn't be surprised if your maps started randomly being replaced with files called "FOOBAR.DAT" or something.
This has happened to me a few times but im lucky cause everytime it happened was was changing small features nothing real big.
When your map loads to a previous state, it's not really a big deal. If you don't want it to do that, when you go into Forge, load up your map. Probem solved.
This happened to me once, but I couldn't retrieve it from recent maps because I was playing offline and the date wasn't set on my Xbox, lol.
I said it in another thread, if you go to the file list and select it before every game, its always the newest save. this happened to me once, I went and reloaded the map, and it was all there. Hasn't happened since. not really a big deal
no, he saved changes on intel and it saved over the deleted map. it does that, the only safe way to save is by saving it as a new map every time.
Saving as a new map can get annoying, I so hope they patch this, I mean my map list is already annoying huge. Anyone encouter a custom item limit yet?
Yeah this is absolutely terrible and a utter disgrace. I have had so many problems I feel it is almost not worth it to keep forging. I have been working on three maps. They keep getting replaced one by the other. I finally finished one and uploaded it to my fileshare and this website for testing. As for the other two...well one got completely, completely deleted and replaced by the only one I had finished. And the third got half way deleted. I have lost hours. 10's of hours. I'm pissed off. And frankly afraid to waste anytime and effort on more maps. I just found this out right now. I guess I can overcome it by saving as a new map. But frankly I think I already did that but it got replaced by my other most recent forge session on a completely different map. Maybe I'll have to save as new every time and then upload to fileshare and maybe I could download the right map. I've been down that road too. Maybe that would work...Maybe! At some point though it just gets ridiculous right. I'm sure bungie knows about it, but it possibly may be unfixable.
This happened to me once after I put roughly 12 hours into a map... Now I just always hit "Save as New Map" to help prevent it.
Never happened to me but hearing it happen to other people, If i had to guess it is either a horrible bug in the system that randomly happens or People not knowing how the auto-save feature works properly.(IMO there should be a tut somewhere or in weekly update or something)
The same thing happened to me a while back. I just had to suck it up and attempt to do it a third time. Luckily, the map looks way better this time around.
Apparently the glitch occurs if you drop to dash without exiting the map first, so always quit, even if you don't save.
