    Three Tears
    Download

    Players: 2 to 8

Gametypes: FFA, Team Slayer, Crazy KOTH, Capture the Flag

Weapon Amount Clips Spawn at start Spawn Time
Sniper 2 1 No (yes for team slayer) 120
    Rockets 1 0 No 180
    Concussion 2 2 Yes 60
    Shotgun 1 1 No 120
    DMR 2 2 Yes 30
    Needler 2 2 Yes 45
    Needle Rifle 2 2 Yes 30
    Grenades 4 (2 piles)
    Plasma 4 (2 piles)

This is my first serious attempt at making a map. It is fun map that has a lot of jumps. Perfecting the jumps definetly changes the gameplay. There are many ways to get to the top of the map and many shortcuts. It is very symmetrical (almost perfectly - Off by one grid)

The jumps are quite easy but fun. Grenades can be bounced off of the ceiling to clean out top hill or campers. Running the flag is enjoyable because of man cannons and shortcuts. I am learning how to make better spawns. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The entire floor is a hard kill zone. I was going to use shields with the kill zone to give a deathly look but not enought shields for space. I placed a death ball right in the center to give a little bit of am impending look. If anyone has any ideas on how to make the floor look dangerous please let me know.

Getting to the two bottom hills are problematic for new players as the jumps are a tad iffy, but one can drop down from the floor above for easy access. There have been some good fights at these two hills.

There is a 2 way teleporter on each side of the map for quick side changes, but these teleporters do not show up in capture the flag. Rockets are missing from Crazy King. Helped with balance on the top hill.

A note on jetpack: Either everyone has them or no one. If someone is half good at jetpacks they will own this map.

I Hope you like it and any feedback would be great. Please be gentle, this is my first map. :)

I rendered a little movie to show some easy jumps and good ways to get from hill to hill.

I don't know how to embedd this properly:

If you're posting a map you should probably have posted it in the Map section according to it's genre... but seeing as you're also looking for suggestions... I guess I'll be nice to you this once. Anyways>>

Hello, and congratulations on your first map in progress ;) Judging by your pictures and what you said in your post, I can tell you might need a bit of tweaking on your spawn points!

In the Halo 3 Forge Discussion section there was this thread on effective spawn placement. I'm sure you can apply what is being taught there to your own map! Here's a little link /!\Here/!\

EDIT: ^^ that's for the basic spawning back in H3, there's no spawn zones or any of that stuff so a bit of help there :p

If you read and watch that, I'm sure you'll improve on your spawn technique.

As for the floor, if you have enough incline pieces, you could try putting a bunch of pointed banked inclines sticking up out of it. Or maybe even throw in those small antennas for a more thinned pike look ;) hah, but that's just my suggestion.

Other than that it looks pretty promising! Just a couple more little fixes and I'm sure you'll have this map rolling! Good Luck! :D

Great idea on the inclines! i am going have that for the second version.

Spawns are hard for me to wrap my head around. I need to sit down and really think about it. I found your link helpful and that led me to a tutorial on advanced spawning.

What is funny is when I edit Bungie maps which work very well spanwing wise their setup is very simple. Most of the time they use the same spawning zones for all gametypes. It seems to me that king of the hill would have drastically different spawn zones from slayer and likewise from captrue the flag.

I haven't look through all the maps yet but do you know of a bungie map or community made map with some more complex spawning zones?

Thanks for the input and the links. :)
