Claustrophobic

    Hey all,
    This is, or will be, my entry for the Team Slayer division of the Bungie Forgetacular contest. It's my first full custom map (I made a decently popular remake of Damnation before this that's on my fileshare named Purgatory) and I'd love any insight, suggestions or pretty much any play on it from anyone interested. As it is for the TS division of the contest, it's really only designed for such, but I have made some flag points for CTF and Stockpile, without much playtesting.

    This is a close quarter map with partially blocked sight lines everywhere, giving ample opportunity for snipers, but only if you're very good. I hadn't seen anyone utilize this area yet and thought it was ripe for some interesting environments and gameplay.

    You'll have to forgive the constrained photos, as the locale doesn't offer much in the way of good angles, but I'll put a video walkthru at the end to give a much better feel for what the map is about.

    Thanks for any insight and have fun! Also, I'm in dire need of a 4v4 slayer match being played on this map as I can't seem to group 7 of my friends together at the same time so anyone with a group and willing it'd be awesome to have a match vid.

    it looks nice and i will give better feedback when i dl but i am always a bit cautious with maps inside the cave. It seems too long and narrow for a slayer map because of the lack of flanking positions and the lack of height issues making jetpacks useless. As i have said I have not played it yet so do not take my word as gospel and good look with forgetacular.

    Thanks for looking. In the few games I did get to play on it was a few people, the narrow locale wasn't a real factor, there's enough spacing given the side routes on the ground and the porters to the middle that you shouldn't really get too cornered. I also was afraid the catwalks would be too easily used to hold people down but you're so exposed up there that half the time you have to fall off and continue the battle on the cover-filled ground. Granted, I've only had 5 people on the map at a time so far, so any larger games would be great to hear about.

    I didn't watch the full video, but I'm guessing that the fact that there are no mirrors for buildings had quite the impact on your map. Anyway, my GT is wi1lywonka, my FL is full, so just send me a message and anytime you're online I'll invite you.

    I don't quite get what you mean my mirrors for buildings but thanks for the offer, I may look for you online soon.
