Hello to everyone, i've been coming over ForgeHub for a while now and i have to say i love what you guys do! Some maps this comunity have created are just simply amazing. Eenglish ain't my main language so i hope i dont do too bad writing in this Forum... I'm happy to join a smaller comunity of Halo fans (was on B.net for 3 years but it has become a nightmare overthere...) Back on topic, Forging! I'e been thinking about forging since a saw the first Forge Vidoc a couple of weeks before lauch and after spending much time in campaign, FF and MM, i finally decided to try out Forge. I'v spent about 7h working on my first map and i'll have some pics for you guys soon. I love the tools Bungie gave us to work with but i have a small problem that keeps me going back and forth and i loose a lot of time with this... I keep trying to put (let say 2 bridges) together but i have a hard time puting them up at the same level. The use of both Rigth and Left Bumpers (since they are ''clicking'' buttons) is not very precise. Does anyone want to share a trick to help me be more productive in Forge? Hope im clear about my beginer's problem...
Are you having an issue wiht it bumping up and down too much? If so, I have two solutions: A: Press B while holding an object, and nudge it in Z axis. This is often great for getting everything on the right level. B: Hold the left stick in while you're moving the object. This make the movements MUCH less clunky, so you can be very precise. Hope that answers your question.
A much easier solution is to hold the Left Stick. By doing so, you become a lot more precise. Then you can simply use the Left and Right Bumpers, but still have all the precision of using coordinates. Edit: Damnit, Askar already said that. I've gotta start reading posts all the way through... Oh, and what country are you from? I'm Bosnian.
Hey, newbie as well and the help from this site is amazing. Had same issues as you first map, now on the 2nd map I have been using the coordinates to drop things in place and have virtually not freelydropped any piece and they all line up now. Look at the coordinates and height of the first piece, write it down, it helped me doing that, then go above it, spawn the second part of the bridge, line up the depth and width coordinates and then lower the height till it's aligned. I'm sure a forge expert will come along and show us an easier quicker way, but it helped me move from my first crap map to a 2nd semi ok but perfectly aligned map..
Wow! thanks for the Replies guys, i'll try that tonight! for Haris :I'm from Canada (the French part of it...)
