Subject: Personal Shield Regen - New armor ability Here is how it would work, you tap your Armor ability button, and a green flash akin to Halo 3's regen equipment gets sent out, and if you aren't being shot, your shields recharge (The same way your shields recharge when you pick up a health pack). The flash would let someone who saw them run around a corner to not follow, and it would be more balanced than AL because it doesn't give you invincibility while charging.
Actually this is a pretty good idea, but let me try and expand your idea with certain paramaters that you may have implied, but did not list. 1. It is noticable when used 2. It will not work when you're being shot at, or possibly 1 second afterwards (so its not like the regen in H3) 3. When recharging shields it will be done twice as fast as normally. 4. It will not recharge health past the "third" that is recharged when regaining shields normally.

I got so excited when you mentioned shield regeneration, but then got slightly disappointed by the actual post. Despite this, that idea is pretty neat, however it shouldn't really be used INSTEAD of Armour Lock, just as another AA. Armour Lock and this would be completely different. Name for it: Shield Bump
I wasn't really saying it would replace armor lock, it would just be another addition to loadout selections.
This has got to be the dumbest idea ever. EVER. EVAAAARRR. This eliminates all possible uses of melee-ing. Because as you would know, if there is only a tiny bit of shield left, the melee will only take out the shield. Now imagine this. You're going in for a melee, and the guy sees you too, and you both melee each other at the same time; both of your shields are low. What's this? This guy has Shield Regen? He presses his AA button, recharges his shields (even if it's just a little bit) and melees you. When you both melee each other at the same time, he WINS. Cause he has shield advantage. And what the ****? He recharges his shields like NOTHING HAPPENED. Here's another scenario. You and your teammate are BOTH chasing after this guy. Your team mate and your friend manages to get his shields down. He rounds the corner to get out of range, and wtf he recharged his shields, and he's sitting there with his team. No kills for you, but you manage to get a couple of their shields down. You yell to the other two teammates on your team "TWO OF THEM ARE ONE-SHOT" and so they run up there to perform a hit-n-run, and wtf, they all used SHIELD REGEN! and your teammates get mauled. No. I will allow AL, but I can not accept this retarded thing that you've come up with. This is mainly the reason the SR in Halo 3 was only available in so few maps. You could only use it once, and you don't get it for at least another thirty seconds or so when it respawns, and ONE person can only pick it up. No. The bubble shield usage in REACH is the perfects reason this is not there. Deploy, regenerate without outside harm. THEN you could regenerate. You also couldn't run outside the area. Instead of having chickings use SHIELDREGENOMG AND get away. No No No No.
Armor lock gives the same advantage Keep in mind that the effect is noticeable--if you see a green cloud shoot out behind the wall you probably shouldn't pursue. That recharges the shields AND the health--this only does shields, and you can see it when it happens. Besides, the drop-shield already recharges health.
You see the guy deploy this AA so you back up and start shooting him, disrupting the regen. Or toss throw a grenade. Whatever works. If the AA is going to have the limits that FlamingArmadillo suggested (namely limits 1 and 4), this situation would be easier to spot and easier to overcome. And in any case, if the guy runs around the corner and lures you into a trap with his team, you're kinda screwed no matter what.
I'm thinking probably only 1 user per recharge, with same rate as AL, or even a little slower to stop from spammage, and if you get interrupted (at any point after you hit the button), tough luck, wait till next time. Possibly they could add an animation to it, so its like you're doing something to start the recharge, like hitting a button or something. [br][/br]Edited by merge:

Way to kindly tell him that you don't like his idea. Ok so you and your teammate both chase a guy and then your teammate and your friend manage to get his shields down right? What happened to you? Even if your teammate and your friend aren't good enough to both land 2-3 shots on him with the DMR, or spray him with the AR before he turns the corner, why would you chase the guy knowing that the whole team is there? Even if this new AA doesn't require a second or so to active, it would still be waaaaaaay more fair that AL because it doesn't give the opponent temporary invincibility.
