    Hi everybody.

First post. I'm a business software developer, and after work, I like to blow off some steam with Halo 3 and Reach. Figured I'd try to create a few maps and see how they turn out. This is a the first one. A buddy helped with some of the base design and testing.

The map is pretty simple, but what we're going for is gameplay - 2v2 or 4v4 slayer is what it's designed around. We're trying to keep it as balanced as possible, with power weapons strategically-placed to try and keep the action moving for long and short-range combat. Long-range may have a slight advantage, depending on how the game plays out.

I called it Battery because that's another word for a military fortification with multiple cannons or artillery. Near where I live in Oregon we have several World-War-II concrete batteries that originally were designed to protect the mouth of a major waterway. Those concrete forts have a few rearward cannon placements with lookout positions facing the water. On our map, the red base on the outer tower is called 'lookout base' and the blue base is on the land-side is 'cannon base'.

It still needs a few tweaks. Spawns may be changed slightly, weapon drops, and cosmetic stuff to make it look more interesting. Please check it out and leave some feedback, good or bad. If I've missed anything obvious with posting or whatever, rules... please let me know.

    Have fun!!

Yup looks like a sweet map to me. I am really enjoying how you incorporated the ground with that base near the cliff. I am going to download to check it out.

Also, and overview screenshot of the map would be nice, just saying.

    Welcome to Forgehub
Very nice, this is one of the maps that I will keep on my hardrive. Map plays extremely well. It's flawless. I played a 2v2 match and it probably has to be one of the best maps on this site.

Thanks for the props! We're gonna keep at it. It was a lot of fun putting this together.

    Here's some gameplay tips:

The cannon base (upper base) looks like it will have a big high-ground advantage... at first. But, there are actually three ways to attack the upper base besides through the obvious, direct center-of-the-map canyon. Both hills on either side can be climbed or sprinted up in certain places for a flanking sneak-attack. The upper base also does not have as much cover, so upper-base campers can be more exposed. Sniper spawn distance from the players' initial spawn should give both sides a sniper at the same time.
