Diablo III is not coming to consoles, at least not yet anyway.

A recently discovered job posting this morning suggested Blizzard was looking to port over the game to the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. The company was quick to reply, however, saying the listing was merely for a concept title that may or may not actually come out.

"We're exploring a Diablo-related concept for consoles and are currently looking to fill a few senior console-related positions on the Diablo III team," Blizzard said in a statement posted on the Diablo III website.

"As we've said in the past, with proper care the gameplay could suit the console platform, and we're interested in seeing what talent out there might be interested in such a project."

Blizzard later stressed, however, this job listing is not an announcement of a Diablo III console title and that the company is devoted heavily to the Windows and Mac platforms.

"Please note that this is not an announcement of a console title. We are first and foremost developing Diablo III for Windows and Mac PCs and don't intend to allow any possibility of a console interpretation to delay or affect the release of the game."

The last Blizzard-developed title to be released on consoles was StarCraft 64 back in 2000. The game was published by Nintendo and co-developed by Mass Media Inc.

I think this is just awesome. I always wished Diablo was a Xbox Title. I hope this accually happens.
