MEGA bad, MEGA tough, MEGA EVERYTHING!" - Mike O'Malley Originally a map I conjured up way back when Halo 3 was first released and Forge contained nothing resembling a useful feature, The Aggro Crag was inspired by the Nickelodeon children's game show, GUTS. I wanted to create a fortress style map where the basic idea was to scale a structure and control the top. Here is the original for comparison: With the new Forge World I was able to create something a million times more impressive and functional with half the time and frustration! It's a 4 story monstrosity with a prominent basement level and a number of secret jumps I've worked out for the xXxMLG SnIpA pRoZ 33XxX amongst us. I'm incredibly happy with how it turned out, but if I could change one aspect of it, I definitely would have chosen to build it outside for aesthetic purposes. But I personally think it's a nice use of the coliseum space. This is how it feels to conquer all beneath you atop the summit of The Most Awesome Rock. Like many of us, I plan on submitting this for the Forgetacular contest, so of course I'd like to get some feedback on it before I turn it in this weekend! I'm a little torn as to whether I should submit it for the team slayer, symmetrical arena, or capture the flag category so getting your valued opinions are a must! :O This looks extremely original and seems to have revolutionary ideas of map design thrown around in this, great job. It's unlike everything that I've seen, looks great aesthetically, and probably plays well too. If I were you, I'd submit this for Team Slayer, because Ladnil is submitting Genome for Arena, which will win over this, and I can't picture this as a good CTF map. Sweet map dude!
Thank you for the kind words! I've been leaning towards the Team Slayer category myself. I've been trying to tweak the map to play a stronger 1 flag CTF game, but I'm afraid the flag just takes too long to return in Reach to make it viable on a map of this size. 2 flag plays pretty tight I must say, but the contest is being judged for 1 flag only so I'd rather not take my chances.
Actually, the CTF category is for both 1-Flag and 2-Flag, but I think you have to specify which. Here are the rules on B-net, just in case. This map looks phenomenal for both CTF and Slayer, although I'd have to lean towards TS. There's a lot of unique spaces and cover. When I play I like to outmaneuver my opponents, and I think this map would give players plenty of opportunities to do just that. Good luck in the Forgetacular.
