Actually, I casually walked so that he wouldn't hear the breathing until I was right behind him. C'mon Frag, pay attention. But he was an idiot.
Regardless, it's risk vs reward. Typically people ignore midrange (even close-range) sprint breathing because they think teammates are spawning on them (I'm paranoid so I always check). I was willing to risk the sound once he was far enough to mentally justify it in his head. It was done with the assumption that he was a typical player, which was confirmed by his reaction to my disappearance.
