Hello forgehub world.... Did any of you ever wish that all the armor was unlocked at the beginning of the game and you would just have to get the credits to buy the armor? Or maybe all the armor was visible and you would have to get the rank and credits to get it. That would make it easier to know what you want to save up for and it would let you know what task is ahead of you so you can get the armor that you like. Do any of you think it should have been that way? Please let me know.

I hope this isn't a thread to whine about it. There's plenty of resources out there that provide that information...

For me it's simple. I see a piece that I have enough cR to purchase, I buy it. If I'm unsure about buying something, I save cR until I see something I feel like buying.

No this is not a thread just to wine about armor im just suggesting different things about how the game could have been and im seeing who thinks the same and who has other opinions. I buy the armor i like to but i just think it would be cool to see all the armor in the beginning so you would have a better understanding of whats ahead of you.

I think his point is that you can't see all armour at the start, some of it only becomes visible at certain levels and some only when you've bought other armour pieces. The latter is what irritates me more, since it means I have to buy stuff I don't want to get stuff that I do, and it's not even clear what I have to buy in order to get what I want.

Though I think this is exactly what Bungie wanted. If you could see all of the armour right from the off, you'd plan what you want to buy, save up enough cR and then buy it. The whole point of their extensive customisation being entwined with the ranks is to help the overall player investment system they're so keen on. This way ensures that you'll keep playing a lot longer and with more dedication to get the armour you want, to the extent that you may end up buying every other single piece of armour (over exaggeration, but you get my point) just to unlock the last piece you want so you can buy it. In the end, this ensures that people will play with the dedication that comes with wanting that next cool thing for a lot longer than they otherwise would, so I think you're right out of luck if you're genuinely hoping for this to change.

However, as general wishing, yeah it'd be nice not to have to buy random crap to even unlock what I want as visible, let alone then save up the further credits to buy it since I've just spent loads to unlock it. Not the end of the world though, and ultimately I plan on buying every single purchasable item just through playing enough.

In a way, yes but it's completely understandable why Bungie did it.

For example, today I just hit colonel (go me) so I could purchase the gold visor. I thought to myself, I don't think there's anything else I want so I'm not gonna bother with rank anymore. But then I saw the Mk V shoulders, Mk 6 helmet, GUNGIR, ect in the armory and thought, crap. You have to be brigadier.

In short, the reason it's like this is to give an incentive for players to keep wanting to rank up and playing. You see something cool and new in the armory so you want it. If they all appeared in the beginning these new permutations would lose their appeal overtime.

I do see your point. If the armor was all visible than there would be no reason to keep on playing the game and staying dedicated to it. I do however thank you for the comments.

I like it. Really, for the general people, it would in fact be a system where if everything was out in the open to view, they'd plan out what they want, then spend the whole time spend the whole time saving up for just that. I like the system, just because they never know what will unlock for them next, and what lies ahead. However, I'm wondering how many other people out there are just saving up so they can buy an Inclement Weather armor effect...
