    Welcome to Hammer Base.

Hammer base was an active ONI installation on the planet Reach but has since become deactivated. Occasionally, it is still used for training exercises in the Spartan Program.

    Overview of Hammer Base:

Forge limitations and design preferences have lead to Hammer Base being a thematically symmetrical map (not mirrored). It is easiest thought of as being diamond shaped. Two opposite corners are the red and blue bases. The other two structures are home to power weapons - the Sniper rifle and Rockets - one being in each.

    Blue Base:

Satellite Structure (Landmark) - Sniper is found here

Bunker Structure- Rockets can be found here

The central structure is a three level symmetrical building with multiple points of entry: two sets of stairs, two man cannons set a little bit away that aim for the top floor, and 2 1 -way portals (a sending portal in each of the bases, and a receiving portal at each side of the top floor.)

    Overview:

    Power Weapons:
    Sniper x 1
    Rockets x 1
Shotgun x 2 (Base of Central Structure)
Concussion Rifle x 1 (Base of Central Structure)
Grenade Launcher x 2 (Atop Central Structure)

    Vehicles:
Each base has a Warthog and 2 ghosts.

    Map Goals:
My intentions with this map was to create a large playing field that provided for vehicular and indoor/close quarters combat while being easy to traverse quickly on foot.

Each of the three central structures are designed to be important to keep for the weapons they hold as well as their vantage points over the rest of the map.

This is best suited for team games, particularly Team Slayer.
It currently allows for Team Slayer, CTF, assault, team KOTH, and team Headhunter.
As I was planning it, I envisioned Hammer Base being used for big team battle, but the map might be better for 4v4 or 6v6.

There are neutral spawns for FFA but I am not sure how well it will play yet.

I would like to set up a game to play with people so I can give the map proper revisions. I hope to submit this to the Forgetacular contest.

I put quite a bit of time in to this and I think it there is a lot of potential but I recognize that there are things to adjust. I welcome all ideas and criticisms.

If you play on this map variant with your friends, please tell me how it was. If you could share the video, I would much appreciate it! If you put the video in your file share temporary, and send me a message (GT Schwingy 343) I will download it ASAP.

    Thanks
    Schwingy

Looks really cool for FFA and a nice mix of unique structures and natural enviroment. 8/10

Well, you definitely got to your goal. This is an awesome map. The vehicles are very easy to drive, and I think it is cool that you did this in the area that you did. The bases are awesome and balanced. The rocket launcher spawn i thought was an awesome spawn. Only a couple problems with the map. Maybe you could make the 2 turrets into 1 to make it more balanced. Also, the shield door jump in the very middle was a bit weird. You can only make the jump if you stand on the railing and jump, without sprint. Otherwise, this is a great map. GL in the contest.
