Coptic is a symmetrical map designed for multi-team as well as team variants of slayer, CTF, assault, KotH. Best suited for 2v2v2v2, 3v3, 4v4 and 4-8 ffa. Coptic works well with loadouts (any armour abilities). Weapons of note are: Gravhammer, Rockets, Plasma Launcher and Sniper. I wanted to create a multi-facetted symmetrical map that could carry the weight of team variants while being still fun for multi-team and ffa variant game types. Its an average sized map that focuses the gameplay towards the central areas of the cross (hence its name). Each platform is the "base" for each colour, with a tower and a bunker for map transit and weapon spawns. Though symmetrical, the map is colour coded (based upon multi-team) to ease communication and map locations. Clean visibility across the map, with plenty of places to lie in wait for ambushes. Fast paced, and equally spaced.
There seems to be a lot of dead space on this map. I'm not saying that it should be a cluster **** of objects, but this really looks empty. Nor does it look too innovative tbh... Typical arena map in a fished out pond.
ignore him, the center peice looks awesome. I think it would be a little crowded in the bunker hill though. actually there are a few spaces on the map that you could add some stuff, cuz it seems you didnt care about that area much
I agree - as it is now, I think its the bare bones of what I want and how I want it to 'feel'. I do not think I am going to add anything more to the bottom layers (some of the game variants have some things in them that enjoy the space as it is on the bottom level. However I am considering expanding the second level a bit more to include more combate area at the elevation. As for it being typical - I can also see this, as I used the Warlock archtype as the basis (closed quarters, multiple levels, focused points)
@secret schnitzel don't just dismiss the map because you've seen many like it before, many competitive gamers ad MLG would love kinds of maps like these, cool map, BTW the middle piece looks great!
Thank you - I am currently expanding the "bunkers" to be identical and larger to fill out the space a bit and add another area (once done territories and hills will move accordingly)
Apologies, I was mistaken by picture three that there was nothing in the corners, hence the dead space comment. However, I still stick by my comment that this is nothing new. I don't care how cool your center piece is.
