Invasion: The Kingdom That Falls

    Name not final yet but if I don’t come up with anything better I’ll just stick with it.

    Here’s my latest Invasion map. I’m doing a map preview this time as I’ve had some balance problems with my other maps when I’ve released them straight away.
    The map is mostly done just the decorative parts that need adding and some cover for the attackers. I haven’t put the phase objectives in yet because it was hoping for some advice on them. Mainly phase one, which is shown below.
    For phase one I was going to have it as large scale vehicle combat but I'm not sure how to balance it. If the game is 8v8 and the humans attack with 4 warthogs the covenant get 8 revenants or 8 banshees. Its annoying that the humans dont get any one manned vehcles, except the tank but that might be overpowering. What do you think?

    Dude that castle looks freaking beastly, on the vehicles go with 2 hogs, perhaps a rocket and regular, and 2 mongoose with 2 rocket launchers that respawn kinda fast but not so quickly its like the spartans always have rockets. As for the covenant id go with 4 ghost and 4 revants, banshee's overpower way too much especially if the spartans don't have a guass hog, if you put oh say 4 banshee's give the spartans a gauss hog not a rocket hog, the gauss is very powerful but having more than a single banshee will level out the playing field.

    I agree, this map looks really, really, good. The only quick thing I see is "how do the attackers get up?" I think placing a falcon or banshee would ruin the "castle" feel, so I am curious how the attackers get up to the castle. Looks great and so far and keep up the good work.

    There is a long walkway at the back of the castle underneath the bridge i think its in pic 3 look at the rocks he made its got a ramp in it =) which just adds to how badass this looks.

    This looks like a pretty impresive map. The rock ramp looks great. It should be a perfect invasion map.

    I’ve encountered a problem with capturing phase one. Phase one is designed to be a large vehicle battle but the only way to capture the territory is on foot, which ruins the point of phase one. Does anyone know if there’s an option to turn vehicle capture on or off, if not then away around it? Thanks for any help. The map will be finished after this is sorted out.

    As far as I have ever known, vehicles cannot capture anything. The only things vehicles can do is be labeled with game objective like KOTH_HILL, etc and they can be allowed to use teleporters.

    Thats annoying. I was hoping to have a large scale vehicle battle for phase one. Not sure it would work now. Looks like I'll have to rearrange my map. Thanks for telling me.

    Sounds like a good idea. Defending against onslaught of banshees would be a fun phase one. It could be a bit unbalanced though.

    I’ve finally finished the map now. I’ll put the map up for download sometime later when I get some spare time.
