Remake Salvation

    Yeah the ladder is much better than the lift. Lifts don't work properly in game types with altered gravity settings. Thankfully someone figured out that one way shield doors make perfect ladders.

    I saw this when it was featured on MLG and had to take a look, I really love what you've done. Definitely the best of the 3 MLG featured maps so far, this is now my standard warmup runaround and splitscreen map and it's never leaving my HD. I've only played splitscreen 1v1's on it so far but it plays those beautifully, and considering that even the more polished Reach forge maps have some frame rate drop when playing splitscreen, this one plays incredibly well, testament to its clean forging. I'll try to get some proper gametypes on it soon, are there any in particular you're after opinions for?

    Good luck with this in the contest, I'd say it definitely has a real shot.

    Best remake yet hands down. You have forged it so well that my friend thought that it was a map that came on the disk. also the ladders is 20 times better then grav lift also using the stunt ramp made it appear more like a ladder.

    I love this map best remake ever

    also you should put this as one of the nominees to be put in a playlist for halo reach in the optimatch forum part of bungie.net


    also I love how this one has no erorrs no lag. pure awsome :D

    I was wondering how did you do the shield door ladder? its a awesome feature :)

    All round amazing remake, cant fault it anywhere ^.-
    Might start hosting Classic nights sometime if enough people are interested and if i can get enough maps (cant see that being a problem :p)

    Thank you for your post and I'm really glad that you're enjoying Salvation. If you happen to play 4v4 3-plot or stockpile I would like to know what you think of the balance in them. I'm unsure about where to place the collection areas for stockpile and the plots for 3-plot. I placed them where I though they would work best but my 4v4 gameplay has been somewhat limited.

    If you or anyone else puts gameplay videos of Salvation on your file share please send me a link.

    @MOORESSLC Thanks for your feedback and I looked on optimatch but didn't see the thead you mentioned.

    @jat666 First I would like to make it clear that I did not discover/invent the shield door ladder. I'm not sure who did but kudos to whoever it was. That said...All you need to do is place one way shield doors red side up against a wall. It helps to place something on each side so you don't travel too far side to side while going up. I think there may be a thread on here somewhere with more detailed instructions.

    It's not even close.

    I hate bursting people's bubbles but if you're going to make a remake at least take te time and put in the effort to make it perfect. Changing weapons is ok because the game is different from the first but the scale should be matched for reach and all of the detail should still be there otherwise it doesn't play the same. This is an example of a perfect damnation remake: Conviction V2. Every detail that would affect gameplay from the original has been accounted for in this remake. In my opinion people shouldn't boast about remakes when they aren't even complete remakes.

    I'm not trying to be a douche or anything but it feels like you are advertising your own map in someone's thread which seems kind of...wrong.
