    Walnut Canyon
This large forerunner canyon holds many secrets, but has been taken over by the sands of time. 8-16 Players

Walnut Canyon is a large asymmetrical big team battle map that is meant for large games of up to 8v8. The map works best for team snipers due to the large scale of the map. There are structures to be explored and vast areas to fight in. Red and Blue team each have their own sides to the map and their own advantages against each other.

    Weapons:
    DMR x6
    Needle Rife x2
    Rocket launcher X1

    Vehicles:
    warthog x1
    ghost x1

Where did you come up with the name? Cause I live like an hour away from Walnut Canyon, Arizona... And it sure doesn't look like this! Haha no it looks like a good map. Is there any framerate issues?

    thanks for the comments guys.

I needed to name it something canyon so i used part of my gt and made a name lol but yeah i figured there had to be somewhere named walnut canyon. The only frame rate issues are with the stunt ramps and they flicker i guess you can say as you walk by cause the blue neon comes into view, but it shouldn't lag you much.

Cool idea and location, but I really don't like how disconnected all the little parts of the map are. There's no unifying theme or path, just a bunch of moderately cool structures thrown around the map. Also, it seems like the "neutral base" would always be under red team's control, since they spawn so close to it. And what's with the random little tunnels all over the place? Other than that, the walkway between Red Base and the cave is cool, and looks fun to fight from and on.

i partially agree about the structures, but its really easy to say something like that,
its another thing to actually accomplish it in a map.
its very difficult to make anything in forgeworld seem like a complete and separate place.

i think Paulie did a great job with the toolset available to him.
There are a couple of the structure that do look a little bit random/uninspired,
but the rule has always been gameplay > aesthetics and clearly Paulie took that into account.

The map was fun to play during the few testing sessions that i was lucky enough to be a part of.
I only had a couple minor complaints at the time,
and i cant tell from the pictures if they have been addressed or not
because my memory of the exact layout since the time of testing is kind of faded.

My complaints were that it wasnt smooth driving for the hog, transitions between structures seemed too bumpy/awkward at times
but this could have likely been due to not being used to the map.
the other things was i felt Red Base was slightly too dominant.

but again, these comments are pertaining to the version that i played,
and im not aware of changes that youve made since then.

    all around though,
this map is great, and you did a great job at capturing a large BTB space.
congrats on the map and i look forward to more games on it in the future.

Thanks for the input, i tried to keep the buildings and such so they didnt look out of place but the reason for some random things like the tunnels is to help with gameplay. witthout them the map gets to open and over powering to those stuck in the canyon. The neutral base is close to red base, but blue base has the catwalks to control and they can use the cave and control the walkway aswell. So both sides have pretty even control of the map during gameplay but i understand what your saying. The whole theme of the map was to make it look like forerunner ruins which are covered in places by the dirt and look like the canyon has began to take over the ruins.

Thanks fot the good review titmare, i changed some things and balanced both bases as best as i can, but during a game of team snipers both bases and sides of the map are ballanced best after the tests ive done.
