I had an idea a few weeks back to build a map that looks like it is set within an asteroid space station. This wasn't going to be easy, the map would have to be completely enclosed and I was unsure of whether or not I would have enough rock pieces to make this happen. I started building the map and it went great. There is a nice visual mix in the map. There are plenty of rooms and tight corridors surrounding a central atrium that is "carved out of the asteroid". The atrium has plenty of walkways and platforms in it and definitely encourages use of jet pack (think sword base). The map consists of a blue base, red base, upper blue hallway, lower blue hallway, red hallway, green hallway, and the atrium which has a blue bridge, two neutral bridges, a central platform, and orange base. There is an orange lift not shown in the pictures. There is also a UNSC themed airlock near red base and a Covenant airlock and hanger near blue base to help with the theme of the map. Weapon placement is NOT final (or even finished) and neither is the name. Any suggestions for either of these are greatly appreciated.

Looks interesting. It reminds me of the second mission from Jedi Knight II: Mysteries of the Sith. Can't say much about the layout because the screen shots don't give a very good view of it. It's hard to imagine. But it looks good! Keep it up.

I never played that one. The first Jedi Knight I played was Outcast. Great game.

But anyways, the layout is hard to show in screenshots because it involves enclosed rooms and hallways. Basically, the atrium has 3 routes leading off of it to blue base and 3 to red base. One of the ways to red base is a grav-lift. The atrium has a central platform/room and 3 bridges in it. Steve 11th Selby was nice enough to take a look at the map, and he said the layout was nice so I believe it will ork well. Also, in the map, the atrium looks really cool and reflects the lights really well which you can't tell from the screenshots.

Wow this looks awesome. First map where the structure is mostly made by rocks. As others said the layout is a bit hard to distinguish. But who cares, its a map preview thread. Its meant to show of the awesomeness of your map to get people interested and eager for the final product. You have definitely pulled this off.
Only gripes I do have, and these aesthetics only, is the hangar looks clustered and the platforms seems to float. Remove some of the plasma batteries and covenant crates in and around the hangar and possibly add columns to some of the platforms. I don't know how you're going object wise but using 1x1, tall as columns could look good.

Yes the hangar was a bit clustered, but I have fixed that. All of the platforms are very much attached to the rock and are not floating, but I will look at adding supports to make it look more realistic. Thanks for the feedback!
