I like to call those Forge Lessons "Teaching Perfection" personaly ;]

They are like that thing that Carney psoted on the bnet, except they are much mroe in depth and less broad. Deffinatly a good read, especially for anyone who seems to be having trouble with their maps.

 

An addition

You might want to add my blog to that list, so far it's the most complete technical guide for Forge 2.0 available. Check it out for yourself, but pardon my dust, this weekend is update weekend.

Godly's lessons are very useful with any style of map and are definitely worth reading. I've been reading them since he started them and they are all really useful.

I recommend them to everyone here.

Ray is actually pretty mellow about it to be honest, I find it fascinating how some of the others just flock to him. I do find it nice to have someone of similar calibre to Forge with, especially with the give and take that you get.

Not putting him up on a pedestal, because there are others like him, I'm just finding that they're few and far between. I would like to consider myself in that number, I just have a smaller, more refined group of "underlings" as it were.

 

I really like GodlyPerfection's forge lessons. They're called Forge lessons, but they can really be applied to any kind of level design (and some to any kind of design at all). I like that. They aren't specific to certain situations, each one can be used in a million different ways.

 

I also found Reaching perfection to be very helpful. I'm still new to level design and I'm using the forge lessons there to help me out with my latest map.

The lessons are a great help; I've learnt a lot from them. Such theories in design are such a help, they got me to focus on what is important in a map. As BCB said, they can be used in a million ways. Each one helps in a different way; and by using them I think perfection will be obtained! I highly recommend them, if you don't read them already.
