So the map I have been working on since the game came out, I don't get a lot of time to work on it, is based on the same island as Paradiso (however you spell it). It has two BIG bases on each side and will be set up for objective based games (CTF, Assault, etc.). I have looked at Paradiso to get some ideas on how to place the spawn points and spawn areas. But I would like to know have some tips from actually Forgers on how to place these items instead of just reflecting the spawn points of Paradiso. So any help would be greatly appreciated.
Make all your Respawn Points neutral, and use team-owned Respawn Zones to group points and make them behave as though they were team-owned. This way, in FFA, all points are usable, but in teams, players only spawn on their side. (Bear in mind: Initial Spawns don't seem to be affected by Respawn Zones. At all. Make them team-owned.) Spawn points should point towards objectives, important areas -- generally, toward places you want the player to go. A person should be able to walk forward for about three seconds before hitting an object that impedes their movement. After placing a spawn, stand on top of it, look in that direction, and see if that viewpoint would be a good viewpoint to spawn in -- can you see most of the surrounding area? Try not to place spawn points completely out in the open; if you do, hostiles may move behind them and camp, or someone could spawn facing away from an enemy.
