YouTube - Halo Reach Custom map
I wanted to create a map that was original but also had some of the parts from old good maps where a lot of the combat went down - hence the name, 'Heat map.'
This map is good for CTF or assault because it has a base either end but also plays really well headhunter and slayer. There are a lot of risk reward jump shortcuts and good lines of sight. I have spent over 20 hours tweaking it. Im not that confident with spawn placement but I think it is ok. Let me know if not.
I really enjoyed Turf from Halo 2 and lockout so I have incorperated some parts from them and also the centre room is a bit like the snow cave in Snowbound but it is a bit safer to go in...
    WEAPONS
    DMR x 8
    Needle Rifle x 5
    Assault Rifle x 3
    Plasma Repeater x 1
    Shotgun x 2
    Sword x 1
    Plasma pistol x 4
    Grenade Launcher x 1
    Plasma Launcher x 1
    Needler x 2
    Magnum x 3
    Sniper Rifle x 2
    Spiker x 1

This map is really fun with Jet pack so I would definately replace the medic loadout with Jet pack.

This is a very interesting concept, the combining of several elements from different maps to make a collage of sorts. I'll DL and get back to you soon.

You should def. do more of these in similar styles, with different map parts

Theres a URL Thumbnail and theres a Forum thumbnail. Do the URL Thumbnail, or the one that looks like a link(the group of words you put in your address).

I like the idea of selectively incorporating elements of other beloved maps into one, but here it feels kind of chunky (if that makes sense).
The areas you deemed Lockout, Turf, and Snowbound are easily identifiable, but don't flow well with the rest of the map.
This being said, an easy way to fix this would be to instead of having one of those elements on each side (referring to Turf on left, Lockout on the right) try to blend them all into one mixture of mapgasms.
Try to mix all of the Lockout/Turf/Snowbound elements into a free-flowing field.
Doing so would overall increase the balance of play and make things that seem out of place in this version (i.e. random rocks in the center when there are none elsewhere) feel more part of the map than random structure thrown in to accommodate for what you wanted to accomplish in one section.
In most maps it is good to have a pattern or consistency.
Not to say you should make it symmetrical, but make it feel like one map rather than pieces of 3 different ones.
    Catch my drift?

Thanks for the feed back, It was very difficult to make the turf part blend with this type of map(more like lockout) but I like how that part of the map offers such a different type of combat. The main part of lockout I incorperated is the grav lift room and upper platform which is connected directly to the Snowbound part. I realise The Red base can be a little unused during slayer games but it has multiple options to get to the centre and with Sniper and shotgun there it makes for a good holdout.
I will try to make the rock theme blend with the rest(although I was happy that there is no frame rate problems and didnt want to add to much more)
    Cheers

Wow man, me and friends have played this map so much now. It is freaking fun.
the centre area is perfect and provides such good vertical combat.
The weapon placement is great and not to overpowering, although sword and sprint are a menace. CTF really is magical with 3 or more either team. There are heaps of cool jumps to learn. 5/5

    Yeah, its fixed.

Just one question. . . if this is made out of the areas of other maps where the combat tended to center around which area will the combat center around?

    That's a random good question!
I kind of wanted everywhere to be the 'hot spots' but generally the centre structures is carnage central. It is hard to blend the Turf area with the other parts but I think the bases are quite fun to fight in, One base(Turf side) is wide and good horizontal combat and the othe base is a vertical style(similar to Lockout) Try it out
