Oh god no. Imagine having every photo having to follow the rule of thirds? People learn it as their first compositional 'rule' and thus automatically think everything should follow it or else it's bad composition. There's a reason why some artists say the rule of thirds is dead. And it's due to mass-abuse. There are a lot of better ways to compose an image, chiaroscuro, curves, lines, perspective, etc etc. Look up on visual weight if you want to get into this a little deeper. I have no idea what I'm going to do here. We haven't done anything photography related for the past month in my photography class, we haven't even touched a ****ing camera, she's like I'm going to teach you photoshop LOL DERP.... I'm like "I took this class to learn all about photography, not photoshop. I already know a ton about photoshop and even took a class for it, everyone in this class chose Photo 1 not Graphic Arts".... So yeah. I'm not going to post **** tier quality photos just for the sake of posting them, I might as well put this thread at a halt till I buy my own DSLR after I can either get a job or wait till Christmas, since my current digital camera has barely any modes and capabilities to take half way decent shots. The only thing I can change is the exposure on my current camera. What I really would love to do if I lock my thread but will only want to do if it other people will join me is have a "Recent Photo Thread" where everyone is able to post their recent photos and everyone is able to comment on any of the photos, just like the Universal Music Thread, just the Universal/Recent Photo Thread. That way the thread will never die....as long as people who love photography will post their own work.... So what do you guys think? Anyone like the idea of it? Because otherwise this thread will just die, for the sake of me not having a real camera and not being able to to take photos in my photography class...
I actually love the idea. I have a camera so shitty i cant even change the exposure, but i do enjoy seeing all of the pictures people post.
Try taking pictures with just the camera you've got, see what happens to it. I might start posting pictures if this does convert to a universal thread...got a reaaaaal nice camera..
are you getting lazy? jk i keep checking this thread to catch some new pics....nothing in awhile. maybe we can rename this project to 52weeks of pics! but keep em coming, but not the ones of you school. i like the ones you take your time to snap, not the ones that read "missed a day ill just take a picture of this hallway!" @stoj! epic sig. Skrillex is the ****! i saw him and deadmau5 in concert together last month! F*CKING FACE MELTING!!!!
Post was made two weeks ago, so as of today it's been at least 6 weeks since actually taking pictures in Photography class. What the **** man. I'm not getting lazy, just not able to use the DSLR at school, and I've taken practically a picture of everything at school, I really need to get a job to get a DSLR. Anyways here, you guys obviously haven't seen this so it will answer your questions: Also, <3 Skrillex n Deadmau5
yewwin, glad somebody else can relate. live would have been siiiick, so jealous. back on topic, I think closing and letting the thread die would be a smart idea and if you feel like it, make a photography thread for photos. this isn't working at the moment though, probably lock.
I was just trying to tell him the basics! Lol thats what I learned when I first started. Once you learn what people look for, then you can go on to what you think is best. You don't just teach others based off your opinion. When I said it's better composition, I meant for beginners.
