CDG: Waterworks (not a remake) My entry for team slayer in the bungie contest is complete. CDG: Waterworks This is an entirely indoor map that supports all game modes. The map is mostly symmetrical with some variation throughout. It should be balanced for all modes. There aren't too many power weapons, but some are added for certain modes. The respawn timers are set high for the power weapons and most of them don't spawn at start. There are no vehicles unless you're playing race. I used 4 special fx filters, Slayer has Juicy, Invasion has Purple, Infection has Orange, and Headhunter has Nova. Invasion is setup so that you only use half of the map for the first round. There are one way doors blocking the rest. I've already updated and re-uploaded this map to the bungie fileshare 3 times. Please let me know if you find any more crucial errors when testing this map. It is setup for all game modes, but is being entered in the Team Slayer portion of the bungie contest. Here's a walkthrough video of the CDG: Waterworks map. http://www.youtube.com/v/okwLKyGsrM8?fs=1&hl=en_US Can somebody post a link or explain how I embed this video here?
Sorry mate, but your post isn't up to standards. Fix the following issues, or your post will be Locked, and become unviewable: All map gametype posts require at least one embeded picture or video. Add a description of at least 500 characters. (it's easy) Give information about your map. ~ More information and help on embedding pictures can be found at this link ~ Follow these few steps and you'll have yourself a great map gametype post. For future referance, read the Rules when visiting new forums. It'll save you a lot of time and correction. Cheers, HarisSales.
here i did it for you in future get the link from the actual video not the full screen one YouTube - CDG: Waterworks - walkthrough
Thanks everybody. Yeah I couldn't pass up downloading that song from YouTube when I first heard it. Zelda rules. @ Wrek, Can you message me with the code you used to embed that video? I tried the embed code and it didn't work so I just copied the link out of it.
ok well ill actually make the first response to your map after watching the vid... WO! its huge! how long did it take? looks pretty cool, although id get lost super fast haha. my favorite part about this is the waterfalls, very nice touch. good job.
Thanks. Probably around 10-15 hours. Plus 3-4 revision uploads prior to this version. I found several things I needed to change after testing it in most of the modes. The round platforms were among the last few items I actually placed. Thanks, I thought they added a nice touch. It's not quite as large as it looks. It's almost completely symmetrical except for the position of the bunker ramp in both bases and a few items in the main waterfall room. I tried to make as many ways to get to one point as possible without making it too large and confusing. I almost ran out of pieces to use when I was going to make it 3 floors all the way back to the last hall. I'm kinda glad I did, because when I changed the layout, it worked out better. The last revision added a few more objects for slayer mode, which add a bit of cover and a couple of extra ways up to the second level in the main room.
Merp.. I thought this was a water works remake, that was disappointing. Anyway, it looks it has a lot of bumps. Smooth them out and I'll DL. PS- Out of curiosity, how did you set the youtube video into that screen size.
I told him about the halo 2 map in his other thread. (He posted this same map a few days ago with badly taken pictures). Whenever a map gets named the same thing as a previous well known map there will always be this problem, that's why it is best to rename the map, even if it is a small change. Maybe rename it The Works. I mean this map really has nothing to do with water other than the fact it is located by the waterfall.
Sorry to disappoint everybody, but it's not a Waterworks remake. It's just my CDG version of Waterworks. The map plays pretty well with 4 or more people from my experience on it. I've fixed any bugs that I've found while testing. Somebody else embedded the video for me.
