I've been working on a map where I have a Kill Ball spawning in front of a man cannon which in turn sends it rolling thru a trough to another man cannon which sends it back to the first man cannon, sending the ball rolling back and forth thru the trough.

    This action works perfectly fine.

Unfortunately, the kill ball will just disappear on it's own after a bit. While I can set the ball to respawn almost immediately, it's still annoying that the ball will randomly disappear in the first place. Funny thing is, if I drag the ball in to the stream of the man cannon, it will roll back and forth indefinitely without ever disappearing. It only disappears if I start a new round and it has to get itself going again.

Any ideas why this is happening?

My question and suggestion would be to set the respawn timer on it to never. I think this would cause it to continuosly transition between the two man-cannons. Hope this helps.

I just gave that a shot. The Kill Ball now disappears and never comes back. When I set the spawn timer to "1" it at least pops back in to place.

    Thanks for the suggestion, though.

Okay so my only other suggestion would be since you can't seem to get the thing to go continuous is to build the map in a way that the ball disappears inside of a "tunnel" and respawns in the same tunnel so that it is never seen as disappearing and reappearing it'll just seem as though it is constantly moving back and forth.

I don't know if this helps as I haven't seen your map, but it is what I would try and do I think. To make it seamless and all.

All moving objects will reset at some point, including the kill ball. there is no way around this so to make it respawn faster go to the Advanced settings and set the min to max.

Regarding your problem, I would just suggest changing the placement of its spawn a bit.

make sure that its continually moving if it stops or slows down for a long enough period it will disappear this happens all the time like in halo 3 with objects on water. example: if the boat was not always being touched by something with some kind of movement such as jostling it would sink and disappear.

If the actual disappearance of the object is what's irritating you, perhaps use two killballs at once? Like Portal said, we can't see your map, but perhaps if you set a second one to spawn like five seconds after the first one, it will have the two going at the same time, and then when one despawns and respawns, the transition won't be a drastic because of the second killball that will still be bouncing around for the next five seconds.

Thank you every one for you recommendations.
After some consideration, I've decided to embrace the randomness of the disappearance and have chosen to incorporate the Kill Ball as an environmental hazard in the map.
