    Frosty began the work on Rocky. I joined him because he asked for some ideas for cover. It was his first Reach map and he wasn't sure if he would get too far with it. Together, we changed that. We worked almost three weekends on it before we came up with a product that we were satisfied with. We did a ton of play testing, working out spawn points and various game variants which would work with the map.


    The end product was a map that consisted of four bases, each having its own unique style and different vantage points. We worked very had to reduce the amount of vantage points in all parts of the map. The map had too many vantage points so we decided to put rocks in the center so one would not be overwhelmed by DMR fire.


    Overall, we are very satisfied with the product. Rocky became a map that we are proud of. We hope you enjoy it as much as we do.

    About what the initial Spawn camera views. This is the center of the map, which has the Energy sword and a plasma grenade.

    Blue base. This is where Blue team spawns.

    Red base. Located below the base is the teleporter that takes you to Blue base.

    Purple “base”. It's the smallest and contains the sniper rifle. Purple base is located between blue and red base.

    Green Base. This base houses the pro pipe and the needle rifle.

    If you stay up on top of red base too long (as well as any other base) or on any rocks for too long, the soft kill barrier will take your life.

    The fight for the sniper. The Spartan closest to you is actually a hologram, which is why it's not firing.

    Hey thanks for the comment. I hope you enjoyed the map and I'm surprised that I actually got a comment. We spent a lot of time on this map so it's cool to see a comment for a change.

    I agree, the aesthetics on this map are wonderful, though I'm concerned about how the long pathways do during gameplay.
