So far I dont have any pictures of the map but i just want a few suggestions about what gametype to use with it and anything i should change. Thanks ahead. Heres the link: Bungie.net : Halo Reach : File Details
You should really put pictures. At least put some screenys/renders on your fileshare. Most people wont take time to dl an undescribed map just for fun.
In a map preview, you technically don't HAVE to have pics. That's in a map POST. Pics are nice to have in a preview, but not essential. However, you should at least give a brief description of your map.
Yeah, I didn't mean required, I'm just too lazy to go download a map that for all I know could be some blocks stacked on top of each other. That's why I like pictures ^.^
In this case, pictures weren't necessary for me. The Mass Effect reference was enough to get a DL and its a good thing too because this map is pretty freaking awesome. The asteroid space base in particular is very well conceived and is immediately recognizable as what it is supposed to be. The blue base is equally well designed and very convincingly looks built right into the cliff face. The minor uneven floor issues are, in my opinion, a small price to pay for the awesome appearance and could easily be explained away within the "story" of the map as part of the difficulties of building into an asteroid or the side of a mountain. The Mass Relays look like Mass Relays and the asteroid field is elegantly simple and well constructed. The idea of a map focused on air to air combat is also nice. I do have some ideas/suggestions/comments for you too: 1. Delete one of the other lights on the map and place a Blue light in the ceiling of the the tunnel in blue base. The blue base in general and the tunnel in particular are so dark that I couldn't find the blue team banshees until I added the light. Adding the light there helps illuminate the whole base and will draw players attention directly to the banshee hanger. (Also, move the focus rifle out of that shadow, it cant be seen at all) 2. Add Respawn Points and Zones to each base. Put at least 20 respawn points into each base and then cover each base with a Strong Respawn Zone respective to that team. This will make the map compatible with Team Slayer at least, which is a great staring point. 3. I would consider replacing one banshee at each base with a Falcon. That ought to add more variety to the air combat and give players the option of landing troops at the other base for some close up action. 4. Because of the air combat focus of the map, setting up any gametypes other than Team Slayer will require some serious creativity. I have some idea in this regard, but listing them now will make this post way too long. Let me know, if you are interested in hearing them. Likewise, if you want any help setting up for the objectives etc, I would be happy to help (or do it myself while you supervise Anyway, Great Map so far!
