Greetings. This is my first submission to forgehub and my first Halo: Reach map. It was made by myself (ROMIN SN031690) and good friend CommandantKnight.

We decided to make this map to enter it in the Forgotten Treasures 2 contest, and pay homage to our favorite Halo CE multiplayer map, Boarding Action. It has been faithfully rendered in loving and painstaking detail. Weapon spawns, barrier placements, grenade placements, power-up locations, and the reconstruction of the entire floating ship cutaway. Proportions were measured in game in Halo CE and reconstructed as necessary in Halo: Reach. The biggest differences on the map are the replacements for the ladders, and that the first floor can be traversed without needing to climb a ramp, essentially adding another room to the fist floor. There is one gravity lift per side in the second floor bunker, and the rest of the ladders were replaced with various ramps, and stepping stones.

New weapons were added for gameplay effect and to take advantage of Reach's new style of play.

No Armor abilities were added, but they are available for use with the standard slayer game type at spawn.

Map is compatible with Slayer, CTF, Juggernaut, King Of The Hill, Oddball, and Stockpile. More may be added later.

    Cool map, Nice post/description.
It looks like you can jet-pack across the gap - Do you foresee the jet-pack being too dominant on this map?

Couple of things for ya since I have / am making a remake of this as well.

First, great job on the use of various objects for the playing area, its really nasty on your item limits if you try to use just bricks, believe me I know! :)

Second, there are a few tricks to use to replace the ladders. One of the easy ones is the "elevator" one way shield. To do this just put a one way shield at a very steep downward angle (looks just like this --> |/ <--) and when players touch it they will be pinned between the wall and shield. Because of the angle, the shield propels them upward just like a lift! Note: Does not work for going back down... :(

Third, I dont think this map will have issues with jetpacks. For every advantage gained in mobility this map takes away in visibility. Its tough to hide here, and even tougher when you're flying all over rather than moving along walkways. Also note: the jetpack shouldnt be able to get from level 1 to 5 in one go, its just too far.

Thanks for this map, inspiring me to get mine rolling and see how I do. :D

You can Jetpack across the gap, but as Bluegoblin said, it's a nonissue. The only issue with the jetpack that I could forsee, which was being able to hide behind or on top of the map has been solved with a safe zone, and three kill zones. The farthest the Jet pack can get is almost to level 4, and that is only useful depending on where you are on the map.

Also, I tried using the shield method, it just wasn't appropriate for this setup. Too expensive and I couldn't get it to work. shield walls are 250 a pop! Eitherway, my partner agreed that the jump blocks and ramps were more practical.

I wish you well in your remake. I can't wait to see it.

Purple would indeed make the map look better. Either that or the combination(HA! HA! HA! EVIL LAUGH!) of purple and next gen. >:D

This might be to late, but have you tried a gravity lift for a ladders. It should work if you put it over half way into the wall just enough so you can see the lift effect. that way you can just jump down and not lift right back up.
