So, I noticed that with FT2, there are quite a few remakes. I'm looking for some in particular, and I'd like to challenge the community to come up with some, if possible. Specifically, however, I'm looking for a Rat Race map.

So, here are the maps I would like to see. Also, any suggestions on how to go about making one of these maps would be useful:

    Halo: CE
    Rat Race
    Death Island
    Timberland
    Ice Fields
    Infinity

    Halo 2
    Backwash
    Burial Mounds
    Midship
    Waterworks

    H2:V
    Example
    District
    Uplift

    H3
    Everything

Also, I would really like to see the PC maps, especially District. Thoughts?

Why dont you make those maps.

Actually i believe they have all been remade so try searching for them either here or on mlg because they had a list of every single map remade and some links went to here others went to there.

I list these because they have not yet been remade. Either that, or the remakes of the maps in question are...well, bad, to say the least. I know Backwash is possible; somebody made it in H3. But I've never seen the PC maps, save for Danger Canyon and Gephyrophobia.

Also, I did try remaking at least one of them: Rat Race in Sandbox.

I'm sure nearly every Halo map has been remade, just not very well!
The problem with a few of those maps is that they're just very very big.

I did start a map like Death Island (not built around the Island) soon after getting in to Forge. I may restart it now that I've got the feel for the controls but you could drive a Scorpion around Death Island and it would still feel huge, I can't get that same feeling in my maps.

I think the best approach to those large maps which used huge cliffs to keep people in would be to get rid of the cliffs totally and turn the maps in to islands. That might work for Ice Fields, Infinity and Backwash. Waterworks? Probably not as its still really big.

I wasn't a big fan of many of the original maps from Halo 3. There were a few that were fun, but overall they just seemed terrible.

Now I'd love to see a good majority of Halo 2's maps remade. Those were some beautifully crafted maps.

I wasn't either, but I grew to appreciate Isolation and Epitaph (after about 2.5 years). Favorite was undoubtedly Construct. Snowbound still sucks.

Orbital for sure. The linear style ended up making one of the most fun maps of them all. I'd love to see it remade, but hell, I'm way too lazy to do scaling and all that :/

I saw an orbital remake that looked pretty ok just at a glance here the other day. Search for it.

The one that I REALLY want to see but doubt we will have in any kind of quality for some time is Waterworks. Its just so immense, getting the basic map down isnt too hard but doing it in the perfect location and giving players at least a similar feeling to the old map is one hell of a challenge.

My next project is an accurate remake of Boarding Action. I did a test run to see how doable it was, and I oversized the map by a bit (scaled up about 25% or so) and was able to get most of the layout made without running materials below 50% (if you go below half you cant make the second ship opposite the first!!). I'll be sure to post it here when it is done. :)
