Hey guys, DeCiipHeRz here, and I'm not only new to this website, but I'm (sadly) also new to Forging, Halo, and knowledge of the game aspects(weapons, what's OP/weak, what's balanced/unbalanced, etc.) I am however having fun with Reach's Forge 2.0 or w/e its called. I tried forging stuff in Halo 3 a couple days ago and it was awful. I don't see how anybody did it. Anyways... on to my point of this post... I downloaded a map called Arathi Basin, which was a remake of World of Warcraft's Battleground map of Arathi Basin. (I'm not gonna lie, it was pretty terrible) It got me thinking, "What other battlegrounds would be possible to remake?" My first thought? "Warsong Gulch" So I went to the Forge World, and started looking for an area that could be used, but haven't found any at all. So basically I started making it in the air, which I read in a different post that it's generally not a good idea to make maps just randomly floating in the air. My first question is, Does anyone know of a large, flat, grassy area that I could use as the main combat area? For those that have never played World of Warcraft, and have no idea what Warsong Gulch looks like, heres a picture of it. Unless I can find a basic, large grassy area, the middle of the map is basically going to be on a floating metal wall/building block/etc. type of object, which I don't particularly want to happen, but if it does have to happen, I'm sure I'll live with it. I also need help with aesthetics. The way the map is going currently, its just going to end up being a big fat flop of building blocks and walls. If anyone has a large open grassy area, please let me know now before I work on this map anymore and have to end up scrapping it and starting over in said area. If you want screenshots of what it currently looks like, please let me know. I'd love for this map to work, because my friend and I have been thinking about this idea for about 2 days now, and have most of the other stuff thought out. As in, the classes(which took forever for us to feel like they were balanced out) and how they work. A lot of thought has been put into this map thus far, and I'd hate to have to scrap it because nobody's gonna like it. Any input will help, thanks for anyone that does actually help.
What about the gulch? Play a game on "Hemorrhage" and you'll spawn in it. Familiarize yourself with it, then go play on "Forge World" and go find it. I think it'll work good for what you have planned.
