The other day I came up with an idea for a gametype called "Dino Hunter". The point of the game is to take down the slow, powerful dinos (elites).

At first, I was going to make it a variant of SvE slayer, but guess what. Bungie decided to get rid off it.

So then I tried using Invasion Slayer as the base gametype. Unfortunately, Bungie didn't give you the option to have the different species have different traits. That left me Infection to make it in.

Here are some of the specifics of the game: (All of these are subject to change based on feedback/test sessions)

    Hunters:
-All base player traits are default.
-Starting loadout is called Stalker and consists of
    -DMR/Shotgun
    -2 Frags
    -Drop Shield
-Hunters have access to power weapons, vehicles and armor abilities that don't respawn.
-Numerous DMR's, AR's and Magnum's with short respawns on the map.

    Dinos:
    -90% Movement Speed
    -0% Jump Height
    -300% Weapon/Melee Power
    -No Motion Tracker
    -2000% Damage Resistance*
    -Waypoint Visible to Everyone
    -Weapon Pickup Disabled
    -Infinte Ammo
    -Starting Loadout:
    -Sword
    -No Grenades
    -Sprint

*Do you think that this is a good damage resistance rate? It takes 12 sniper bullets, 2 1/2 rockets, ~37 DMR rounds, 2 tank rounds, 4 sword hits, 8 or so shotgun rounds (close range) to kill a Dino.

I'm probably going to make Dino kills worth much more than a human kill, I'm just not sure at what the ratio will be yet.

    The Battlefield:
The map I'm going to be testing this gametype on is called "Dino Caves". It consists of the cave by the ocean and the entrance to the cave on the gulch side. There are walls blocking off the cave at the ocean side, and the meadow right before it goes into the gulch. It is also possible to climb up the rocks that are opposite the dinosaur caves. The meadow is mostly open and favors the hunters. The cave is somewhat enclosed and favors the dinos. Located on the map are:
    -2 Armor Locks
    -1 Active Camo
    -1 Sniper Rifle (24 rounds)
    -1 Rocket Launcher (6 rounds)
    -2 Warthogs
    -3 Mongeese
    -1 Scorpion
    -1 Stationary Turret

Let me know what you think about this idea. I greatly appreciate any and all feedback. If you are really taken to the idea, I will eventually be looking for playtesters, so let me know if you are interested.

    tl;dr: Dinos bad. Must kill.

This actually sounds really fun. Although I think that the scorpion might be a little too overpowered (even with the dino's damage resistance). The tanks can still be pretty accurate from a distance and it only takes two hits from one. I could be wrong though, since I haven't played it yet. Once you get around to testing it, count me in.

Well I should probably mention that the Scorpion is perched precariously on top of some rocks, so it takes about 4-5 seconds to flip it and start driving. Also, I'm pretty sure that a dino can take it out in one hit. But it could still be a tad OP. And if I end up lowering the damage resistance on the dinos, the Scorpion is definitely out. I guess we'll see how it plays.
