This should be the final version of Elusive, my remake of Longest. I increased the performance by substituting a lot of the geometry. The weapons are closer to their original form and the cosmetics have received yet another upgrade. I was really tempted to go with the "Next Gen/Juicy" FX combo, but I ultimately decided that the map played better as it was. It now supports almost every gametype too. For CTF,Assault and Oddball, make sure the "carrier traits" have unaffected movement restrictions (otherwise the top route isn't possible). In order to get the geometry spacing correct I took an overhead image of Longest and converted the pixels to coordinates using a based upon the length of time it took to run across the map. I used this method in conjunction with my gut to balance out the map and I think you'll be pleased with the result. Thank you for all the feedback and comments that have allowed me to refine this map. I hope you give it a spin and enjoy it!

This is a very awesome remake. It even has a very cool looking "ladder". By the looks of it, it is as accurate as it's going to get. Hopefully when I get home and I get on both Halo: CE and Halo: Reach, I will see that it is.

I really liked a previous version of this, I'll definitely download the new revision.

Ooh, a ladder that works and actually looks like a ladder. Care to share how to make such a ladder? It, along with the rest of the map, looks really nice and accurate. 9/10

thanks for your efforts, you have my download :) One thing I like to play around with in your map is the use of armor lock/holo instead of overshield because if you grenade it, you can make it bounce down to the floor like the power ups in halo 1. Had good times on your map, thumbs up.

Thanks for the comments guys. I worked really hard on this and I'm really proud of it. If I had to do it all again, there are some strategies I learned along the way that would have made my life way easier earlier. Experience really is the best teacher and seeing how this is my first map, I'm happy to be a student.

As for how I did the ladders? Well, the concept is someone else's but I just used a stunt ramp as a nice neutral texture for the background and added windows (they have a thin piece on the ends) as my rungs. For the poles I used antennas which I lit orange to match the one-way shield doors which happen to be the only functional part. Overall, its pretty resource intensive, but it didn't create any lag so I was pleased. The reason I tried so hard to make it look like a ladder was because someone suggested that people who never played the original might not intuitively understand its function unless it looked like what it was supposed to mimic.

    Thanks again.
