Pharaoh is a 6 level combat zone based on top-down combat, and the prospect of assassinations galore! Pharaoh works well with 2-8 player teams or 4-8 FFA slayer (assault, Koh, and ctf, multiteam are built in as well.) There are 6 levels including the Tip Top (sword spawn, can be accessed from ALL sides as well as teleport) Bottom Floor (Largest area indoors accessible from 2 main entrances & 2 trap doors on each of the inclined walkways) And the "Basement" (includes 1 banshee for team games only.) Weapons are symmetrically placed , aswell as a teleport to&from each inclined side, & from the center of the bottom floor to the tip top. It looks cool visually and seems like it'd be a lot of fun to play a casual game but it's really not suited for MLG. Furthermore, MLG does not use Banshees. It's far too easy to fall off the map. It has poor line of sight cross-map, thus reducing all battles, sniping, etc. to around the sides (straight paths) and from the top looking down. Still, I like the design. If you were to open it up, add a perimeter to prevent from falling off I'd say you have a decently fun map to play for casual play. Unfortunately, I see no MLG potential in this though.
Did you actually play it? its completely hollow...ill put another screenie up. As for mlg, the mlg gametype takes all vehicles away from the map. I put it there just incase someone really liked the map & plays a reg gametype
I did play it. It still has poor line of sight and it's still way too easy to fall off. Certain weapons (like the Plasma Repeater) aren't used in MLG, weapon placement is poor and wrong, respawn times are wrong, MLG doesn't use turrets or fusion coils. It's really not an MLG map as it stands. There's a lot wrong with it when it just comes to the basics. In terms of structure here my chief complaints: -The ramps leading up the pyramid are far too steep. Never make a ramp steeper than 45°. -The ramps lead nowhere but too a minor jump up and a sword. It's out of the way and breaks map flow. -The teleporter wedges me into the ceiling of the top of the pyramid. What's the point in that? -I can't walk 20 meters without having to jump on something. Aesthetically speaking it's distracting. There's no issues with framerate but it's not exactly the prettiest thing to look at. There's random stuff everywhere. I'm not trying to knock your creativity but this map is really sloppy and not suited for MLG whatsoever. I'd give it a 3/10 and that's just for the effort. edit: oh yeah, rockets floating in midair? wtf?
