This is a fairly faithful rendition of Chill Out from Halo: Combat Evolved. I have made alterations here and there for aesthetic and gameplay purposes. I used shallow water to simulate the cold mist effect that Chill Out had which turns out to make for some awesome looking battles with the splash effects. The water also helps to reduce the "grey wall syndrome" that so many maps suffer from. About half of the weapons are in their original placements. Rocket launcher was replaced with the plasma launcher, sniper rifle for the focus rifle, plasma rifle for the plasma repeater, and I added a brute spiker to the broken platform. Any suggestions for balance for team games would be greatly appreciated, as CTF feels one-sided (much like it did in the original).
From the screenshots, I can only spot one flaw; the broken bridge. The two halves should line up and only take one jump to get across. Is there any particular reason you made it like that?
I second that question. It actually prevented me from downloading - the bridge is so different that it makes me think it's as much of a "re-imagining" as a remake.
After downloading, I haven't gotten a chance to actually play on this map, but it's still in my files. It is a very faithful remake. And things seem as they should be. But like everyone is saying. Fix the bridge. lol Other than that, great work.
