    Alpha Facility 3.5

    Hidden high in the mountains, this training facility now lies vacant. 8-12 players

    This was designed for asymmetrical 1-flag matches, however it currently supports, Slayer, Team Slayer, CTF, Neutral Flag and 1-Flag. I recommend 8-12 players, however the map is set up to handle 8v8 or 16 players in FFA. I intend on entering it into the Forgetacular Contest under the capture the flag category.

    The map features the citadel on one side and a very limited "armory" on the other. Between these "bases" is cover and weapons.

    It has been tested in a 4v4 1 flag match and it seems to play very smoothly. Feedback is more than welcome as I'm trying to make it as enjoyable to play while keeping full functionality. I'd like to have this as community approved as possible before I submit it to Bungie.

    Changes from 2.0 to 3.1
    • Updated Defense Towers
    • applied nova and purple fx
    • changed slope of citadel ramps
    • changed rail position on citadel
    • added assault support (Only 2 spawn points per team currently)
    • adjusted weapon spawn times
    • switched blue side dmr to magnum

    Changes from 3.1 to 3.3
    • Added tunnel from blue base to center of map (low tunnel, but has been tested to work with elites)
    • moved sword position from center to inside tunnel
    • set sword to spawn at start
    • adjusted kill zones
    • added "mountain" scenery outside of map

    I like the concept of the map, but maybe you could use like underground tunnels that meet up in the middle or something. It seems like the map needs more stuff or just to be bigger

    Im going to have to agree with slayer, the layout of this map is just way to basic. it reminds me of a bland ivory tower. also i dont see how anything but 1 flag or 1 bomb would play well. In team slayer/2flag/2bomb one team would have a strong atvantage. That all being said the asthetics are nice, you put Nova to good use and i think it looks better with the colosus walls up.

    I have made a map similar to this in Halo 3. After months of having it bland, I made a second floor and it seemed to work for me. As for me, I will download it and look around and see if theres anything thats cool, interesting, or needs to be fixed. It looks pretty well made from the pictures though, good job!

    I appreciate the feedback, unfortunately I won't be able to be on much tomorrow. I have a meeting at 7 and 2 lab reports and 2 exams to study for.

    In my 1v1 tests, of neutral flag it really seemed like the blue team had a bit of an advantage, (shorter distance to travel), and the citadel is a bit more open than the "field" so some things balanced there. My test of 1 flag ended 1 to 1. I'll have to think about the tunnel idea though.

    As for the walls, is it a consensus to leave them up? I got rid of them mainly because of a bit of "Z-fighting" between the coliseum walls and the y platform (if i extended the y's out from the wall, they became a ledge to walk across).

    I also should mention, I changed the ramps to the front of the citadel to be at a less steep angle so you lose no speed when climbing them

    I've officially posted version 3.3

    With the updates, I've changed the name from Area 38 to Alpha Facility. If you've paid attention to the italics on the screen, there is a new description coming with the final version as well. (Is this the final description... who knows?)

    Along with some additional aesthetic changes, I've added a tunnel leading from the blue base to the neutral flag spawn (center area) I'm also beginning to add support for more game modes. Bomb points are set for assault, but player spawns are lacking.

    Let me know what you think of the changes. I've left all the other versions of this map in my fileshare for comparison. versions 1.8 and 2.0 will probably be cut for the next release.

    EDIT: v3.5 should be fully tested later this week and released following feedback.
