If you were not aware, Halo 3 shipped with a few default "Attrition" gametypes. At least that's what I think they are called. They are the flag and bomb games where you have a 60 second respawn time. Supposedly it is a really intense, really strategic gametype. I was wondering if anyone has played those gametypes, or if anyone is interested in trying them. I'm pretty curious, myself.
yeah i played it a while back when halo 3 first came out. i feel its sorta like cod4s game type search and destroy but only with respawns and halo 3 gameplay(duh). what i found annoying was that this guy on the opposite team wiped us all out and they scored very easily. of course i know now to be more strategic lol. but it is more intense i must admit. i'll be happy to play it again
This sounds horrible, but if you think about it, it's not..that bad.... I mean, this is waay more strategic, and as darkmuse said, if your entire team were wipped out, in let's say, a warthog, you're doomed. 60 seconds respawn would be BS though. I'd quit. Seriously
the respawn time sounds like a good opprotunity to get mad caps but maybe if respawn settings were set on to "respawn on capture" that would even it out
Oh teh noes.... I hated those, really people just aren't patient for those in parties and they always ended up leaving...
If it were set so that you respawned if one of your team mates killed an enemy that would be alright. I'd play it then =]
Well imagine how intense it would be as you're watching the last person alive on your team and your respawn counter is still at 20 seconds. The whole point of this thread is to find people patient enough to not quit out in this type of game. I mean, really. Go grab a snack or something while you're waiting.
i dont think i would quit (i dont like quitting!) and watching your team is proabably fun enough but 60 secs! com on just a little to long you could get rid of at least 20 secs and the gametype would still work!
I've loved these games ever since I saw them available. It forces you to re-think everthing that you do in Halo 3. Playing like a slayer pro doesn't matter when the opposing team can win the round in the 60 seconds you respawn. Sniping is the key to winning attrition.
I've yet to try them, and I'd love to. My box is getting repaired right now, but send me a friend request and we'll get a party going. Also, have you tried Tank Flag?
