Created by Osl112 This ancient structure was once believed to be a house of worship, until it got fortified for war. Devotion is a small symmetrical map based in an ancient fortified house of worship. Compatible with most gametypes, Devotion plays well providing fast-paced, multiple level gameplay. The mix of open space with tiered flanks makes tactical gameplay, where aggression may not be the answer. I recommend 8 players for a fast ferocious game. 12 do fit, just expect carnage... Weapons and objectives are often placed in wide spaces, incentives to take a risk. Nevertheless, successful or not, you are sure to draw out the most elusive. Devotion is sure to give you electrifying and enjoyable gameplay. Stand tall. Many may praise by the end. Height here is not necessarily an advantage. Weapons: Rocket Launcher x1 (Not all gametypes)- Some explosive central gameplay, I must say! Energy Sword x1- Be elusive... Be quiet Grenade Launcher x1- Nade 'em out Focus Rifle x1- You've got some nerve Shotgun x1- The map may be small, but is this the answer? DMR x2 Needle Rifle x2 Needler x2 Plasma Grenades x5 Frag Grenades x4 And the marvel of health packs Gametypes: Assault & CTF: Keep your eyes peeled for the bomb carrier/flag (note Neutral Bomb/Flag gets ferocious ) Headhunter Infection: There's no hiding Juggernaut: Prepare for chaotic warfare... King of the Hill Oddball: Quick thinking Slayer: Is it worth it to stock up on the weapons, or do you stay back and remain the assassin. Team Slayer: Stay with your team and stay sharp. Stockpile Territories: Strike a pose. You'll be the center of attention Devotion works well with all the above gametypes. Get ready for some fun fast games. About Devotion: Devotion came into being towards late September. Pre planned in a notepad, the idea was to provide a map that tested skill yet enjoyable. It was also to create fun gameplay where the enemy could strike from a number of tiers. Many hours of fun forging paid off, with an explosive map. More Screenshots: Found any nice stuff yet? The center is overlooked by many tall tiers, but who has the rocket launcher now? Sneak around the back Meanwhile, the top of the chute has another advantage to offer High road or low road? This map is simply amazing. It looks professional and nice with the exception of one part of the map where there are conflicting pieces placed on top of each other and they both are fighting to show up causing the pieces become glitchy as though they're having a seizure of some sort. Idk what that's called, if I could remember what it was it probably would have saved me the long description. Back to the point; the map setup is great, it's not only appealing to the eyes but it's fun to play (had a 1v1 game on it just a minute ago). I give this map 4 thumbs up, although I do only have 2 thumbs... I'll borrow my friend's thumbs for this one, it deserves it. xD
the term is Z-clipping^ and yes that does hurt the map. but all you have to do is move one wall ever so slightly back
It doesn't really hurt the map, but my friend pointed it out "Woah these columns are like freaking out dude" It doesn't really bother me, I just thought I'd point it out. I still love this map, it's great
Ahh, Z clipping. I'll take a look and fix. EDIT: Thanks for the feedback. This has now been fixed Couple of nice gametypes I recommend to you for this map. - Headhunter is fast paced and very enjoyable, I'm sure you'll be screaming and laughing. - 3-6 Players on Crazy King is also very close and fun. There will be a lot of jumping. - Finally, 3 plot territories gets quite ferocious. Greandes will be thrown from all directions. Thanks for your feedback. Keep on playing
