Hey guys, first time forger here! I started messing around in forge with my brother when Reach first came out and we decided to make a map. We had no experience with making maps before (didn't do much apart from mess around in Halo 3 forge), but I think the map came out pretty well (it looks clean if nothing else).

We are both sticklers for detail, and spent countless hours lining things up properly, making sure elevations matched well, making the spawns work perfectly, etc... Now that the map is "done," it needs to be play tested. I don't have enough friends online at the same time to test it, so that is where you come in! (hopefully, lol).

Catapedaphobia is strictly an Invasion & Invasion Slayer map. Elites spawn on the beach in the Canyon and advance to Alaska and finally onto Island to capture the core. I sectioned off Canyon and added another structure for the Invasion Slayer game type to make the experience better.

    Phase 1

Like I said earlier, Elites start at the beach and push forward to capture one of the objectives. Here is a view of phase one looking from above elite spawn (you can see the objectives in the structures on the left and right).

Note: I took a ton of screens, so I'm going to put some of them in spoiler tags so as to not overcrowd the thread.

    Initial loadout cameras:

    Spartans:

    Phase 1 objective alpha:

    Phase 2 objective bravo:

    Phase 2

Once phase 1 is complete, the giant wall disappears to open up the rest of the map.

    Elite phase 2 spawns:
Previous objective alpha structure spawn (plasma launcher spawns soon after phase 2 starts):

Previous objective bravo structure spawn (focus rifle spawns soon after phase 2 starts):

    Vehicle spawn:
FORGOT TO TAKE PIC. WILL ADD ASAP

    Spartan phase 2 spawns:
    Weapon depot spawn:

Detail of weapons at spawn (all spawn phase 2 - same spawn times as boneyard):

Vehicle depot spawn. Located in the cave/tunnel that links Canyon to Island (the wall shown looks at Canyon, and the wall behind the camera disappears after phase 2 to give a view of Island and the capture point).

    Cave spawn:
FORGOT TO TAKE PIC. WILL ADD ASAP

Phase 2 objective bravo is located in the structure on the ground on the left side of the picture above. Here is a closer view:

Phase 2 objective alpha is located up the cliff in Alaska on the right side:

In order to get to objective alpha as an elite, you need to take one of the two ways up. The first way is the gravity lifts:

The second way up is to use the teleporters (there are two) which are located on either side of objective bravo. The teleporter exit is located to the right of objective alpha. You can see it in the pic above of alpha on the far right side of the pic, I'll add a better pic when I add the others.

If you are a spartan, you can take both of those ways, or you can just spawn up in Alaska at the weapon depot spawn.

    Phase 3

Once phase 2 is complete, the core spawns and the kill zone for the last area of the map is removed. Here is the phase 3 area of the map. You can see the core at the center of the circular structure, and the capture point on the shore of Island. You can also see the spartan weapon spawn

    Elite phase 3 spawns:
Forgot to take pics. Will add ASAP
    Lift spawn:

    Vehicle spawn:

    Teleporter spawn:

    Spartan phase 3 spawns:
    Weapon depot spawn:
Same as phase 2 spawn above

Vehicle depot spawn (same as phase 2, but tank added and rear wall facing capture point removed):

Here is a pic of the tank exiting towards the capture point:

    Cliffside spawn:
Forgot to take pic, will add ASAP

Once you grab the core from the structure, you must jump off the cliff (see where the map name came from?). It is best to jump off where the bridges are, because you will live if you land in the designated area.

Here is a better view of the bridges and the landing areas:

Once you make a safe landing, run across the water to the island and capture the core! Be careful of the tank that may be lurking behind you! Here is a pic of the capture point:

Well, there it is, my first ever attempt at a forge map. Please give me your honest opinion of it. If it is absolutely terrible, and highly favors one team, let me know. If there are just small tweaks that need to be made, let me know that too. Hopefully it is a fun map. I've had a lot of fun (and frustration, why isn't there an "undo" option, lol) making this map.

I would love to get a group of people together to play a match, so if anyone has some free time this weekend let me know and we can get a game together :)

    Thanks for reading!

looks pretty decent, not much focus on aesthetic though, i bet you have a lot of extra credits from this.. but looks good, most other people but bravo and alpha points right next to eachother( whats the poin of having two capture spots then????) but the distance is goo so the spartans have to take a while to reach each spot.

Damn, you were serious about being a neat-freak in forge.
Okay, wow, you seem to possess the higher forger qualities that not many have. You have the patience to line everything up and the thoughts that inspire good spawns and weapon placements, believe me, I inspected this thoroughly through. Here's your problem-- This was a terrible idea to start with. I mean, it's forged beautifully, don't get me wrong, but the buildings, while good-looking, are out of place and feel awkward to run to. The actual idea is unoriginal and unapealinging. Your whole forging style confuses me the most, because usualy I see people with amazing ideas that they can't seem to execute, but you're quite the opposite!

At any rate, as far as the match offer goes, I'm game. I'm free this weekend, preferably tomorrow, Saturday, Eastern Standard Time, United States. Send me a Friend Request if you have something in mind.-ShadowStorrmxX (Two Rs in Storrm!)

Thanks for the comment firedrone. I actually used all my budget. I learned quickly that columns kill your budget. :/

Thanks for the compliment and constructive criticism Flamingo. Like I said, it's my first forge map ever, so I didn't really know what I was doing. I probably shouldn't have tried an invasion map seeing as they seem difficult to get right, but overall I'm happy with it.

    Anyone else have any input?

Anything I should change, or just scrap it all together?
