Welcome, good ladies and gentleman, to the first symmetrical gem to be sewn into my list of map creations. I tagged it Catalyst: something that makes changes happen. My goal is to promote the MLG lineup with this map, a symmetrical arena based map for Slayer, Flag, Bomb, and Ball. In other words, this is my submission for MLG, and I my dedication to the design has it‘s rewards. This has been rebuild 3 times on Forge World, and designed to suit the fast paced game play only delivered by MLG. Enjoy my friends.

Here is the weapons list. All weapons/items are on MLG standard times, which are utilized on all already existing maps on the Circuit.
    -DMR x4
    -Needle Rifle x2
    -Magnum x2
    -Frag Grenade x2
-Plasma Grenade x4 (2 in each base)
    -Armor Lock x1
    -Hologram x1

Also, I have been planning to build a fast paced arena map in Reach before KC even announced that he would openly announce the maps he was searching for. The submission inspired me to dedicate so much effort. So Catalyst goes farther than just a submission. It is going to a contender for Forgetacular over at B-net so ALL constructive criticism is highly appreciated.

This map looks very unique, and I love MLG. Also compared to other MLG maps this looks way more unique than the others. Anyways, good job on the map and I'll give it a download

very creative. u can tell that a lot of thought and revision has gone into this map with LoS and flow. Great MLG map highlighting fast paced game play. I love it, and there are parts that are visual cues to locate yourself when u spawn rather than a sea of gray. Possibly best map I've seen so far. 9/10

Awesome looking map. There seems to be a great amount of play space and the aesthetics are pretty kool. I just don't think that the Sprint AA is a good pick-up. I think it should be changed to something else :/

    Enjoyment:

Flag and slayer both worked to perfection, and I had very little, if any, complaints when playing. The basic layout really allowed new players to grasp its concept easily and keep up with anyone who had played on it previously. Every area of the map was formatted to encourage movement, while certain points were still controllable. It was a highly enjoyable experience overall.

    9/10

    Balance:

What can be said about the balance of this map aside from praise? Not much, aside from the minor issues with map control, should one team be more skilled than the other. Is that an issue? Uh, no. That's how it works on every map. At this point I'm rambling because there are no issues with balance on this map, though there aren't any spectacular things to point out either. However, the pinpoint-perfect balance really allowed a player's skill to shine, and teamwork became essential to make any progress on this map. I personally loved the ability to move along the bottom of the map comfortably, thanks to the large bits of cover ever so excellently placed.

    9/10

    Durability:

Framerate lag? Squashed. Spawning issues? None to speak of. Breakability? I'd like to see someone try.

    10/10

    Aesthetics:

There are really two topics to cover with aesthetics; Cleanliness and Specifics. The map is clean, there's no doubt about that, but nothing really stood out. People became especially confused about where they were on the map, because they couldn't find any sort of reference points aside from the lights.

    4/10

    Originality:

The most common question when playing this map; Is this a Midship remake? Sadly, I can't seem to find anything original about the design of this map. It greatly resembles any other symmetrical arena-styled map that can be found in the forums, just with a bit more balance.

    2/10.

    Total:

    6.8/10

I've always loved your stuff, BlueDevil, but this just doesn't shine like some of your past creations have. Does it play well? Yes, it plays perfectly well. I think it's the best of its kind. However, its kind is very common and just doesn't stand out. Just because this is what works, doesn't mean you can't do more. Keep it up, though, I'm looking forward to your next creation.
