Warwick Castle

    Hey guys this is my map that i'm thinking of submitting to the forge contest. id say it is 95% complete final playtesting with 6vs6 is all that is needed.

    if anyone is interested in helping me out that would be great.

    for some reason i forgot to add my shots of the starting areas to my file share, but the match starts on the other side of the cliff and the battle progresses to the castle.

    A long bridge ending in a gate the attackers must pass through is a terrible choke point. Trying to attack across that would be like suicide, and it doesn't get much better once they have to attack the castle. I assume this is for invasion because it's linear, but it might be nice if you get off your lazy ass (proverbially since you can probably type while sitting) and write more than four sentences with proper grammar (optional but recommended) so people can actually help you with your map. It's in your best interest.

    Yeah, whichever team was defending would have a cake walk; even if the attackers made it past the bridge, there's what, one, maybe two entrances into that castle not accounting for jetpack?

    Perhaps if you made it possible for the attackers to raid with additional help. I have a Helms deep map and I used a tall tall wall and made it difficult for the defenders to see straight down. So when the attackers got to the wall they used a grave lift aka mock up wooden ladder and charged the wall landing on top. Try not to make the bridge the only option for entry, a cliffhanging wall, or a leaping bound with evade are other good ideas. As for the castle break up the symmetry, its too uni-formal, make one tower taller then the other or break a wall down. The castle doesn't have to be perfect, who knows you could make it a ruin.

    Wow, I thought forge hub was a place where mature conversations could be had. Everyone is just bashing before even playing, typical.

    Thank you, to anyone giving helpful advice.

    Anyway. I've been playing halo for years and yes I know all about choke points and a need for balance. What i find funny is that no one here is thinking outside of the box. I have also made a game type that will not only provide balance, but add a midevil touch to the game. It needs to be tested tho.

    The bridge is a choke point for a reason and the focus of the map will be team work for both side of the game. As of right now the main gameplay is out side of the court yard. I'm still testing to see if adding "the castle" into the play area will work.

    I didn't forget to do a full write up of my map it's a PREVIEW not a "here's every little detail of my map and game type to steal".

    the game type of invasion shuld be grav hammers and swords only to make it medievil
