Poseidon

    "Poseidon" (Name is a placeholder) is a symmetrical map. The first thing you will notice is the giant boats in the water. What makes this unusual are the vehicles right next to the water on the boats. Despite your initial thoughts that it would be useless, the map is set up so that you can drive over the water, but not walk.

    However, this does not mean you can't get from either boat to the other if the vehicles are destroyed. Rather, the giant walkway in the sky not only allows you to cross without a vehicle, but also allows an interesting place to put a few map control points.

    Note that this map is not ready to play (hence "preview"). I am looking to see what opinions are on the side I have done before I finish the other side and add spawns, weapons, and a few things that would add flavor to the map, but be costly.

    Please mind my mess, as I have a little bit of the other side already started.

    The only problem I see here is that players who don't feel like taking a vulnerable mongoose across a vast open space or are unlucky enough to not have a mongoose are confined to the slim walkways which have almost no cover. The lack of cover would allow the banshee to kill enemies with minimal risk, yet the banshee is so vulnerable that it would have no chance against even the most meager of power weapons. You should rethink the general design of the walkways to incorporate more elevation change, more platforms, and more branches in the walkways.

    Nice. I happened to be making a map with this name, but it isn't the same type of map although it was in the water.

    What gametype are you thinking of making it? Big team battle?

    Thanks for your opinions. This is the exact sort of thing I was looking for. To make sure I understand you, you are suggesting more changes in elevation and more cover pretty much?

    Not sure if it counts for anything, but the way it is set up anyone who gets one of the 3 power weapons in the center should be able to take out or help teammates take out the other 2. Rockets can shoot under the sniper platform and hit the banshee, sniper can shoot at Rockets and Banshee, and Banshee can fly up and hit anyone. More cover for the Rockets is a great idea though.
    It is being designed mainly for Big Team Battle, but I will most likely be able to make it available for any game types except Invasion, Race, and Juggernaught. Invasion will be put in if I can think of a way to do it, but Juggernaught just doesn't like it would fit with this map. Race is pretty much straight out.
